We stayed in the Shady Maple cabin. First, this is a heavily Amish/Mennonite area and there are a lot of horses and buggies so SLOW down. Second, there is no TV and no wireless internet in the cabin. We loved that and specifically looked for that! (AT&T and Verizon had good reception) There is an outdoor hot tub, jacuzzi (with fire place view), and shower as well as a gas fireplace. There is no oven, however, there is a cook stove and microwave with all the cookware, an outdoor gas grill, and outdoor fire pit with a tripod and adjustable cooking grate, swing, and the biggest bird feeder I have seen. I am not a bird person but found I enjoyed watching the wood peckers, blue jays, doves, and other birds come in to eat. We controlled the heat in the cabin and both loved the bed and slept well on it. The milk, cereal, pop, orange juice, sparkling apple juice and snack were a great touch. There are inspirational biblical versus posted and carved in wood throughout the cabin. I would call the cabins semi private. you can see other cabins from here but not very well. We did not fish in the pond. We did watch the ship and goats climbing the boulders. The hot tub temperature would drop from 104 to 100 when we were in the tub with the cover off over a period of time but we were in the 10-20 degree weather. The hot tub was probably our favorite part of the cabin! You may want to bring large towels with you for the hot tub. The towels supplied were nice but they are standard sized towels - a personal preference thing. the cabin was spotless. The trail goes to a nice look out. It is uphill, not that far, and has benches along the way to sit. If you need to get a run in, you can go up and back to the main road and then to look out. It makes for a nice circuit and you can adjust or repeat as needed based on your goals. The owners seem very nice and we had zero problems with check in or the cabin. There is a lot to do in the area - especially shopping and eating; however, we spent most of the time at the cabin and on a drive through the country. We were 100% satisfied with our stay! Also, pictures of Shady Maple cabin and the property on the website are 100% accurate.
