        BEWARE IF YOU VALUE YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT

        I was a resident of the Landings Apartment community for two years. While there were some issues with the apartment, like the tub flooding into the lower unit the first day I moved in, the dishwasher being ineffective at best, a cupboard drawer front falling off for seemingly no reason, and being able to hear the downstairs neighbor snore through floor,I was able to overlook them because the apartments were in a convenient location and I had friends living in the same community.

        What I was unable to overlook was the issues I ran into after leaving and dealing with the return of my security deposit. The issue was with the carpet, which was poorly installed along the seams, so after two years of wear and tear, and vacuuming which pulled up fibers at the seams, it was starting to look a little shoddy. I was charged $498.00 for a full carpet replacement. It seems like theft to charge for something that was not installed correctly the first time. I have spoken to other tenants in the apartment community, and some of them have experienced a similar issue.

        If I were moving here I would be wary of the quality of work put into these apartments. I cannot in good faith recommend that anyone choose to live here because who knows what "problem" they may choose to find to keep as much of your security deposit as they can.
