Shore Werks

The terrace that Shore Werks installed is separating at the corners by over 2". Despite emails and texts stating he would do the repairs for well over a year, he has not completed them. When he responds, Will says that the ground must be bone dry. When is anything bone dry in Illinois? We're not talking Arizona here. Strongly recommend that if you are considering this contractor that you withhold substantial payment to make sure that the job is done correctly. Compare his quote with a reputable company with a long track record, not only for price, but for proper installation. The corners were not installed correctly, there was no drainage installed and he didn't use geo-grid. Realize that fixing a project done incorrectly costs more than the initial install. By the time it's apparent that he doesn't intend to make good on his word to repair the project, you may have lost over a year of enjoyment of the project.

Shore Werks gave us an estimate for a concrete patio and driveway in May of 2014 and part of the deal was they would secure and pay for the village required permit. We paid a deposit to secure a start date, however it took 47 ays before a start date was secured. The company started work on July 8 & after beginning demo of the old patio, the village inspector stopped by and Shore Werks did not have a permit. By July 11th, no permit had been secured. We had to terminate our contract with Shore Werks because of this and issues regarding quality of work (we had three other contractors come out and look at the work done on July 10). Unfortinaty, we lost our deposit of $2400 and had to pay another contractor to finish and fix the job that was started. We would highly recommend not paying this company a deposit and wait to make full payment until the project passes full inspection by a village inspector, if you choose to use this contractor at all; which we don't recomend.
