Century 21

Century 21 Wimco is easily the worst rental management agency that has or ever will exist. During my two year overseas tour, this company mismanaged my property to such an extent that I feel the need to explain, in detail, how this company fundamentally failed at managing my property. Cindy Thompson, my previous rental manager and also a realtor, allowed my property to go from a resilient family home with a beautiful, fenced-in lawn to a filthy slum with overgrown trees and weeds as big around as my wrist. Rental managers allowed storm shutters to be permanently affixed to the main entrance and front windows because the door handle had been completely broken off. Century 21 also allowed the carpet in the master bedroom to be destroyed to such an extent that I wouldn’t feel safe walking on it. The trim along the bottom of the walls in the master bedroom had extensive water damage. Plenty of evidence was deposited to more than reasonably argue that pets were allowed even though the agreements clearly state otherwise. The overgrowth around the backyard fence, the trees and shrubs in the front basically looked as if no lawn maintenance had ever taken place. I provided a lawn mower and weed eater for this specific reason, but the tenant decided not to use this equipment. These things, coupled with the dilapidated condition of rest of the home and yard, almost certainly gave the impression this home housed a drug distributor. Century21 kept the rent at a ridiculously low level, which was three hundred dollars under the rental market with no prospects for increase. Maybe if the property managers actually performed a drive-by or walk-through of the premises like they are required, they would inform the tenant to cut his grass or clean the disgusting, green mold off the siding. Throughout my two year absence I have communicated several tasks to Century21 Wimco. I tried to email Mrs. Thompson directly many times. None of my repeated attempts received any reply until I added every realtor on their website to my contacts, including their “sales” distribution list. Even through the dissolution of Century 21’s management contract, I was never contacted in any way regarding anything and still have yet to receive a response. If you are looking for a rental management company to look after your property, go elsewhere. Go to Rosewood Realty right down the street and ask for Dawn. Dawn brought my house back up to a renter’s specifications, but more importantly, she brought my house back up to my specifications. To Rosewood, I extend my most sincere thanks. To the two failures, Century 21 Wimco and Mrs. Thompson, I raise my hand and extend one single digit.
