Sparrows
Pigeons and sparrows living at your facility can contaminate product and spread disease. Early bird infestation is unique - we exhaust all non-toxic alternative before considering lethal options.
Starlings
These 3 birds can be a huge problem at some businesses. The first option is to build the out or take away their food source. Make sure to eliminate any outside spillage and keep your dumpsters closed. Dock overhangs can easily be netted to take away their nesting areas. Netting works every time. If netting is not an option, ask APS what other options are available for exclusion.
Gulls
The 2 types of Gulls we deal with most is the Herring Gull and Ring Billed Gull. Gulls are typically a seasonal issue. They nest in the spring and raise their young. usually in Late July, or early August, the fledglings are flying, and they leave the nest. At this point, they look for a different food source. A lot of the time, they find landfills as a good food source. If your property is close to the food source, the gulls can be a problem roosting on your roof. In late October or early November, the gulls migrate, and are not much of an issue, until they return in the spring, and start all over.
Pigeons
Disease transmission by pest birds has been well documented. Pest birds can create public health risks and can be a threat to the food or feed produced. Every pest bird situation is unique, and needs to be evaluated. APS works closely with regulatory agencies and industry experts to help determine the best option. The types of birds we deal with most are the House Sparrow, Feral Pigeons, European Starlings, Canada Geese and Sea Gulls. The first question asked should always be, 'what can be done to your property to make your property less attractive to the birds, or to take away their nesting or roosting sites?' You can count on us to give you a fair assessment, and options to get the results you need.
The 2 commensal rodents we deal with the most are the House Mouse and Norway Rat. The short definition of Commensal is taking from man, while giving nothing beneficial in return. APS has a multitude of situations where we have eliminated a serious rodent infestation, where our competitors have failed.
