I have been a patient of this practice for many years. Unfortunately, over the years the best doctors have left the practiced, most recently Dr. Petigreww. My latest experience convinced me that I need to seek another family doctor. A few weeks ago I scheduled an appointment with the nurse practitioner to discuss my current medication. I was very skeptical about seeing the nurse practitioner and not a doctor, but the secretary assured me that she was more than capable in helping me. So I met the her and although she was very nice, she had limited knowledge on common anti-depressants/ anxiety medications. She told me that I should seek a psychiatrist care if I wanted to change medications. This is perfectly fine advice, so I asked her for a recommendation. She gave me the number of a psychiatrist in the area. I called the psychiatrist the next day and the number was disconnected. I called the office again requesting another psychiatrist recommendation. Although I told the secretary that the number the nurse practitioner gave me was disconnected, the secretary left me a message stating that the nurse practitioner only knew of this psychiatrist and I would have to contact my insurance company for another reference.

I feel as though the nurse practioner was not sympathetic to my needs and the staff could have provided me more assistance in finding a local psychiatrist.
