Hart Father & Sons

Last month I hired Kenneth Hart of Hart & Sons to have my chimney repaired and rebuilt on my house in Summit, NJ. The chimney had several cracks in it, was leaking, missing a chimney cap and a host of other issues on the roof surround the chimney. Mr. Hart, I found, was the most professional and experienced of the contractors that I got quotes from. He told me that they have been in business for I think he said 95 years and that even though his price may be a bit higher than the others, the job was sure to be done right because they weren't a fly by night company and stood by their work. The job was finished roughly in the timeframe he quoted and I was and continue to be pleased.

I recently had my slate roof repaired by Mr. Hart at Hart & Sons. His expertise was beyond comparable to anyone else I spoke with. His crew were very professional, the job he did was above and beyond the other companies I spoke with and his prices were worth the work done. I would definitely recommend this company.

I had my roof done in July of 2005. Mr. Hart spoke as a true professional, but when it came down to the falling slate one month after he did repairs--he told me he was to busy & other people had emergiences. He informed me that he was not was not obligated to do further repairs. He did his job and that was it. At least 5 pieces of slate fell, one hitting my 3 year old. It was not until December of 2005, did he come to fix the falling slate. Now it is two yrs later and my insurance co. says my roof is dangerous and needs to be repaired. Mr. Hart provided no work warrenty. If he feels maybe he will come and make corrections. So if you use him remember he does not stand behind his work. He will do anything to get your $$$ and then he is not obligated.
