Get Away RV Sales

Don't trust them They are not honest. They hired us to transport motor homes and they did not pay us. He lied about the payment in the mail.

Here is what everyone must know before you even think about dealing with these horrible people. Just a quick background to the situation. I am an Active duty military member, and currently stationed nearby, my wife is living else where for the moment while she finishes school. So I thought I can save some cash and live in a trailer as we are living off my E4 ENLISTED pay only. That's what brought me to this horrible place.

I located them using craigslist for a $10,000 5th wheel that seemed okay in the pictures, which I wasn't expecting the Ritz Carlton by any means, and had actually negotiated them to $8,200 because there was some mold in the shower and the slide panel was falling off, No big deal, I am capable/confident of doing the repairs myself.

The woman who works the place with her husband gave me a long story of how this trailer belongs to a family member who recently had gone to the hospital and is selling for the bills he accumulated ....(insert long BS sob story). After it was all said and done she asked for a retainer as I was going to comeback the following weekend with a check for the remainder. I had no problem doing this as I felt that this was a done deal, BOY WAS I WRONG!!!!

She called me the Friday before I was to drop the check off and told me that the she was no longer going to sell me the trailer anymore and that she would also not be giving me the retainer back as the money was "already gone." I could not believe this. I asked and asked how this even made sense to her, and stumbling over her words and even getting the stories she just told me mixed up several times, she just expected me to be fine with this.

I was very short on time as I was being sent to Panama for a short 1 month deployment. I called her several times and only upon threatening to show up to her business and create a scene in front of customers did she agree to send me the money. I gave her the address with a promise it would be there in a week. Well needless to say upon returning a month later there was still nothing. I had purchased from another RV dealership just down the road without any hiccups and they even threw in delivery for free.

I called her back and she denied the entire event!!

This lady is not only a snake but she is as dumb as they come. I saved the receipt that she wrote me the day of the transaction and I have the voicemails of her saying she has my address and to expect my check by the end of the week.

I have not heard anything from this family of thieves yet. I recently just returned from a 5 month deployment and am now going to take the next step. At this point it is not even about the money, it is more principle, If anyone else is in this same situation with this disgusting family of crooked people I would advise you to do the same, letting them GETAWAY with this crooked business practice needs to end.

If you still are wanting to conduct business with them anything that happens to you...well, you deserve.

Stay away.....really.

These crooks should be shut down.

Rats infested coaches and bed bugs everywhere, very doubtful RV documentation, make sure the registration is current..OMG...just STAY AWAY !!!!!

We drove 160 miles to this dealership after seeing their ads, nice full pictures in the ads~ and we discussed options with Donnie on the phone before driving. He was very helpful and knowledgeable and we felt very comfortable making the drive to look at a 5th wheel that was exactly what we wanted. Once we got there we were impressed by the prices this dealership was offering for really nice trailers and 5th wheels. Don's family was very friendly and it was nice to not have to deal with someone pressuring us to make a quick decision. After looking at three different 5th wheels we picked the one we wanted which ended up being 2 years newer than most of the models we had been looking at in our local area. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Getaway RV and we have already recommended two of our friends to go there for their next RV. We have had no problems with our 5th wheel, it's BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you Don and Gina!

The other negative reviews are an accurate reflection of what we recently encountered when looking at travel trailers at this dealership. The owner (Don) and son were willing to tell you whatever they thought you wanted to hear in order to make a sale even though it was totally inaccurate to the point of lying. The units we looked at were all re-possessed units from Bank of the West and were clearly marked as so and yet the salespeople were telling us they personally knew the prior owners; when asked why there were no chairs in one of the units, Don, stated it was because the prior owner had a desk there even though the carpet had clear imprints of two chairs. In all the units we looked at there were personal items still left in the unit; holding tanks had not been cleaned out (two units had full black water holding tanks). A unit that was advertised as CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN was so aged and dirty with greasy filters, ovens, stove tops, torn mattresses, and broken faucet handles. When asked about pressure testing the lines for leaks, Don looked at me like he didn't know how to respond and then said yes everything worked and was tested; yet when pressed as to how long and what kind of test was conducted he said he tested it for 35 minutes (industry standard is to test for 24 hours). Don told us one of the units was only used once by the prior owner and still had the new trailer smell; the prior owner was selling it because he couldn't drive any longer; the so-called new trailer smell was from a spray bottle of Fabreze that was left in one of the cabinets. That unit was definitely lived in and had some hard use (worn mattresses, dirty appliances, etc).

I have to say the service was very bad,after calling to look at this trailer ,it was full of rat poop inside cabinets,the roof looked like it had leaked and when questioning the owners son(so he said) he told us it was the glu leaking through. They had cinamon pine cones all over the place and when you look down the air vents,they had powder like they trew powder in the vents to hide the smell.BE VERY CAREFULL WHEN BUYING RV'S. And the worst part when questioining him he got upset and said the rv is already sold,asked him why he showed it to us and told us it was still available in the first place....(I thought you would give more money).....BE AWARE ..Bad business dealings. This is what happend to me and my friends.They need to be shut down!

I drove 75 miles to look at a 31' Camper and when I got there I was shown a rats nest, there were rat droppings all under the sink area, and the entire camper stunk and looked like it had been cleaned by someone with vision problems, the sales people were rude, did not know anything about what they were selling, and got mad after we started asking questions about the camper and said we were not serious buyers because we were asking ?'s he didn't know the answers too. Then he said it was already sold, when we asked why he showed us a camper that was sold, he said he wanted to see if he could get more money for it. There is something shady and wrong about this place, they said it was a 2007 but it was more like 1997, all info from the manufacturer had been removed, I would not buy anything ever from this place
