Barry's Drug Center

I have done business with Barry's for over 20 years & they have been wonderful, helpful, & very friendly. They deliver & they are there in an emergency if you need them. You can't get this kind of service from the big chain pharmacies. I highly recommend them to everyone.

I don't think they are so great at all and NEVER have. (I started going there only because it was close to my home.) Any kind of friendliness is faker than a three-dollar bill. Numerous employees have been very rude to me. One young girl was very openly rude to me on several occasions including heckling me loudly when I walked out one day. She is about the cattiest, most immature person I have ever seen-and the bosses actively ENABLE her bad behavior. When I complained to one boss, he didn't care in the least and always seemed to explain away everything with some dopey PC doublespeak seeming to imply that I was the person with the problem for getting upset when I was treated poorly. THE NERVE OF ME!!! After yelling at me loudly last month during an argument, this girl should have been fired on the spot. But the boss is this really liberal guy (conservatives, go elsewhere!) and always explained away all bad behaviour with some ultra-politically-correct mumbo jumbo. Save yourself some headaches. Go to Wal-Mart and get a better price with a far better selection. At Wal-Mart, they also have a first grader's understanding of how to treat a customer right. I had been a customer there for 12 YEARS, but am tired of being treated like dirt and the bosses allowing me to be DELIBERATELY TREATED RUDELY AND EVEN IN A HUMILIATING FASHION!!!

BTW, an employee who works there gave it a thumb's up on FB. I don't think there is much credibility when you actually work there and simply want to suck up to the boss!

When I first moved to manhattan, the big name pharmacies always either gave me the run around, or they didn't have enough to fill my prescription. I decided to break down and go with a small individually owned pharmacy and I don't regret it for a second. The staff is friendly, courteous, informed, professional and very helpful with any questions. They also have a very quick turn around time. It rarely happens, but if there is a medication that they are short on, 9 times out of 10, they can have whatever the shortage was within 24 hours. All of the employees are wonderful. I wish more pharmacies would use Barry's business practices.
