Dental Examination
When you are ready, we will schedule your first appointment to include a full, comprehensive examination. This appointment provides Dr. Murchie with an excellent starting point for treatment.
X-rays
Our Smile Club package was created to offer our patients exclusive savings, making excellent oral health care attainable and affordable. With that in mind, we’ve included in this package a complimentary limited exam, as well as your panoramic X-rays (worth $228).
Oral Cancer Screening
The team at Goochland Dentistry wants you to be our patient for a long time. To that end, we will do all we can to assist you in maintaining your best health. Oral cancer screening is a simple way we can protect you from this disease.

Teeth Cleaning
Composite fillings may stain gradually over time, so regular at-home care is essential to maintaining the condition of your filling. If you are diligent about daily care and regular dental cleanings, your filling can last several years.
Fluoride Treatment
Cleanings, also called prophylaxis, are a regular part of your preventive care. Our hygienists will remove the plaque and tartar that collects between your teeth and below the gum line, too. Your teeth will be gently polished and brightened to remove stains. Additionally, we can offer fluoride treatment to strengthen and protect your teeth.
Dental Sealants
A dental sealant is a small, thin coating that is placed over the tooth to protect it. According to the CDC, sealants help you avoid 80% of cavities for up to 2 years after treatment, with 50% protection for up to 4 years.

Fillings
Resin Composite
Before the filling procedure, your mouth will be numbed to prevent any pain or discomfort. Your tooth is kept dry to apply the filling safely, and all traces of decay must be removed first to ensure that we begin with a clean area. Once all the decay is removed, the area where the decay once was will be filled with the filling material. Dr. Murchie patiently applies the material in several layers to ensure your tooth is stabilized from within and strong. We will also take our time to shape and polish your restored tooth for a natural and flattering look.
Veneers
Dr. Murchie has attended numerous continuing education courses for cosmetic dental procedures and is highly regarded in this specialty area of dentistry. Trained to perform both procedures, Dr. Murchie offers experienced and safe veneer or bonding treatments to correct your smile.
Crowns
Whatever the cause, your teeth withstand much wear over the years, so it’s only natural to require some additional care from time-to-time. This is where dental crowns become an excellent remedy when your natural tooth needs a little extra help.
Bridges
Dental bridges are a great solution for missing teeth that we recommend for many of our patients at Goochland Dentistry. While a crown covers an existing (but damaged tooth), a bridge is used when teeth are missing. As the name suggests, this procedure serves to “bridge the gap” where there are missing teeth.
Dental Bonding
Composite bonding offers many of the same benefits as veneers, but it is a more affordable option, using a resin material instead of porcelain. Bonding is excellent for minor fixes that won’t break the bank and can be completed during a single appointment, depending on how many teeth are bonded. It is a simple procedure that can truly make a positive impact on your life.

Conventional dentures require all your natural teeth to be removed so a full set of replacement teeth can be custom-made. We begin with an appointment for your tooth extraction and then allow 4-6 weeks for a healing period. Once your gums have had the opportunity to heal, you will be ready for your dentures.

Dr. Rachele Gillespie obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Virginia Tech. Go HOKIES! She has a Master’s Degree in Education and taught high school chemistry and mathematics in Chesterfield County before pursuing her dream career as a dentist. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and continued her studies in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program. She is a lifelong learner and educator at heart, with a commitment to continuing education in the safest and most effective dental treatments. She and her husband, Harper, love exploring Richmond with their dog, cooking for friends and family, and traveling. Dr. Gillespie is excited to meet and provide you and everyone in your family with personalized dental care and a positive experience.
