Green Cab of Madison

BEST Cab company in greater Madison, WI area. Not only is it a green company that uses fuel-efficient hybrid cars but it is also has a great service.

During my ride, I witnessed the driver helping out an older customer with a walker. First, he got out and asked if she needed help. Then, he held the door open and helped her get into the car. Finally, he carefully stowed her walker in the trunk. This is the reason for my 5 star rating

I always use green cab to get to the airport. I make an appointment on the website- super fast and easy and they're always on time. The drivers are awesome!

I had an appointment I had to make on time. I know how share cab worked and how it would take sometime for the cab to get to me and it was only a 20 minute drive to where I was going. This being said I called 2 hours in advanced. Figuring if it would be better to get there early than to cut it to close.

I called waiting an hour for the cab to come. When the driver did show he told me the dispatch only give him the ride an 20 minutes ago. The 20 minute drive to the vet clinic to pick up my cat took about an hour after the cab driver stopped 4 times to pick up other people and drop them off. These people had only called 10-15 minutes prior before getting picked up. I made it minutes before the pet clinic closed. When paying the cab driver had the nerve to tell me I was late because I did not call earlier enough for a cab and asked for a tip.



This was not the 1st issue I have had with green cab. I was on a bus coming into Madison from Chicago. I called in advanced to have a cab ready when we go into Madison. I made it perfectly just about 10 minutes before i requested my bus. It gave me time to get my luggage off the bus and everything. My cab ended up showing 30 minutes after my requested time. Another passenger called badger cab shortly after arriving and getting her luggage and her cab got their before mine that I requested hours in advance.



Point being I have not had good service or experience with Green cab. It is relatively cheap but the same price as badger cab.

I have used Green Cab for awhile now (1year+) and I use to enjoy using them. But it seems like now days the dispatcher is rude. The cab never shows up within the time estimate given. I was in a rush to get to work and the driver took the longest route possible from my home. I was quite upset and will find a new taxi service to use during my important moments.

I took these guys last weekend and they were great. Jeff was my Cab driver and he was very kind. The price was also very affordable. I would take these guys again in a heartbeat!

They're the cheapest cab in Madison, but I've found out unless you call ahead of time they can be really late on getting to you, plus some driver are a bit fast which I like, but not to the point of going though red lights or cutting it close to bicyclists and cursing them out.

I took a cab the other night from Memorial Union home, which I had called to book beforehand. The driver picked me up, then allowed 2 other passengers to join us in the cab without asking if I had a problem with it (I didn't, but it would have been nice to be asked). As far as I know that's not even legal, or at least not within company guidelines.



When we get to my home the driver charges me a couple dollars more than I normally pay, and that's when I ride alone (i.e. no splitting with other passengers), so I ask him why it's more.



He goes off!



He immediately shouts at me that the base fare has just increased the previous day, and makes a comment essentially calling me a cheapskate (which I'm not, I was just asking what was going on). He tells me, again, with a completely confrontational attitude and still shouting, how he's "worked here 19 years as driver, dispatcher, etc." so he knows what he's doing, and all I want to know is about this ride, this time. I don't need his work history. It's crazy! My guess is he had a bad day and I get the brunt of it, but it was COMPLETELY out of nowhere.



At the end I even tried to take the high road, and I offered him a three dollar tip. He said "I don't want your money" and threw (literally) it back at me. Honestly I'm still just amazed even now.



I called the company to complain, and have not had any response from management there.



So, beware folks! There are plenty of other cab companies in Madison, and even though I've used Mad Taxi plenty of times before, I'm definitely never using them again.
