Carpet One

I have filed a complaint with my insurance company regarding for what I consider questionable practices. I was referred to All Pro Restoration/ Priceless One Carpet by my insurance company because of a claim for carpet damage which needed assessment and replacement. There were no prices on anything in the store! I was told by the Floor manager that the carpet I originally had in my home was discontinued. Therefore, I had no choice but to choose something else. The carpet I chose was the same color and in the same style as the carpet that was damaged but turned out to be lower in cost than the original, discontinued carpet. I was accused of "downgrading" my carpet to get money from the insurance company! 1) I had to choose something else since I was told my carpet was discontinued. 2) Since there were no prices on anything, I only had the floor manager's word on price! The only way I found out the actual price was when I called the floor manager's boss, who also made the comment that I downgraded my carpet! Like I did it on purpose?! My insurance company told me it didn't matter if the cost of the replacement was lower and that their payment was to cover the cost of the original carpet. Any left over money should have been returned to me. I have not received the balance and my company is waiting to see if they receive anything. The invoice I received for the completed job (6 wks after the job was completed - mid-May!) is dated 3/31/10. The carpet wasn't installed until April!
