People who are having issues with mcginley's lawn and garden need to realize if they weren't doing something right they would not have been in business for 73 years now. They are a business during business hours they run a business, they're not being rude they just like to be right the first time when finding any parts for any customer. I moved to Tennessee in 2003 after having my own small engine shop on the Minnesota Iowa State line, on the side Small engine until it was cold cuz you was on the side of a major highway. I got divorced and lost everything $38,000 to the tools heated garage for winter . About 3 days after the divorce I needed a change I moved to Tennessee come into outport Tennessee mcginley's is the first shop I seen I'll ask them if they needed help I said not at the moment but they took down my name and number they ever did need help they would call me. Here it is 2021 well at the end of December 2020 save the owner and Keith his son had an ad in the paper, needing a good mechanic I was here right away Monday morning 8:00 a.m. said the owner hired me on the spot I made a son about 4 days later after I'd already been working for 4 days
I want everybody to know that these two people right here and their families are the best people you will ever want to know, they're not rude they would give you the shirts out their back, you just have to realize when you run a business you that's how you make money and if they were doing something wrong they sure wouldn't be in business for 73 years now. Are you sure you being a customer you are not rude to them? And I'm pretty sure it's your machine that was broke down before you walked in is now running am I correct? I've been trying to work here ever since 2003 when I moved to Tennessee and it took me till 2020 to get in here and I can see that I won't be going anywhere soon they are the most courteous polite people and best bosses I've ever worked for. Thank you very much sid, Keith McGinley Happy boss's Day!!!

Took my Troy bit mower to have the belt and deck looked at. I was reluctant because of the reviews, but they were great. The service was awesome. The guys behind the counter and outside were awesome. I'd recommend them for sure.

I want to tell you, the old lady behind the counter is just plain mean and rude as can be. I bought a Cub Cadet 50 inch belt at Home Depot. There were two numbers on the package 954-04240 and 754-04240. All the belts in the bend were 754 so I bought one. When I got home and replaced the belt (which I've done 5 times since I've owned this mower 2 and 1/2 years with 205 hours.) I replaced it and realized too late that it was too small. I returned it to Home Depot. The clerk said I needed the 954 belt and to go to McGinley's. I have spent a lot of money at this dealer. I spent almost 500 bucks in April for a new starter and a valve adjustment on this same mower. (The old lady was rude then, it was a chore for her to take my 500 bucks and she let me know it.) Today I told her what happened with the belt at HD and she told me there was no such thing as a 954. I told her that it was written on the package from Cub Cadet. "No it isn't! she said. "Mama I know that belt was too short and it was a different color. The old one was white and this one is brown and thicker." They don't make a 954 she insisted. What year is your mower? I told her "2013." "They all take a 754!!! All the belts are 754!" She really had a nasty tone to her voice. I got upset. "Lady, I've changed that belt 5 times. I've read the manual like the bible, I've followed the chart on the deck and watched the instruction videos. I sure know how to change that belt, I could do it in my sleep. I can guarantee you that I know what it looks like.""Well, no one else has replaced that belt 5 times. You must be doing it all wrong!" (I mow 5 acres of land and this mowers belts can't handle it.) "Do I have to go somewhere else to buy this belt? I asked. "I also need to change out the blades as long as I have the deck off." Well, I'll see if I have the belt" she grumbled. "I probably don't have the blades!" She pulled down a belt, it was white and much longer. "That's it" I said. Right on the front of the Yard Machine package it said 954-04240. See! I pointed. She grabbed the belt and said "Look on the inside it says 754. I said. I'm sorry if I was rude to you and I apologize for being short but, it says 954 on the package and that is the belt I need. She went in the back and came back with the blades and literally threw them on the counter. I don't think this woman has ever heard the old adage. "The customer is always right!" Be careful when you go in there. You might get your head bit off. She treated me like her employee. I don't know how anyone could work for her. You'd have to pay me a mucho bucks.

I called the primary number (2473) to get information regarding possible repair/replacement of my Troy-Bilt mower which I purchased in MO. The line has been busy for the past three hours. I then called the "extra" number (2620), It rang for a substantial time, then reverted to a busy signal. Apparently the are to busy to talk to potential customers. Since I live a considerable distance from their place of business, and based on my unsuccessful attempts to contact them, along with the other reviews I have seen, I will take my business elsewhere.

Poor Customer Service: Rude,

Had a Cub Cadet Z-Force 48 serviced by McGinley's in March. I asked for spring maintenance, the charging system to be checked and attempted to describe an issue with how the mower was running. I was having a particular issue with the mower running poorly when under stress. It was more noticeable when climbing a hill while cutting blades were engaged.

The gentleman at the counter was dismissive and offered very little advice. He hardly acknowledged the conversation that I was attempting to have with him. Needless to say, I only received a service pack(plugs, filters, oil, blades sharpened) and they got me for a new battery without asking if I wanted one. That visit cost just over $200.

There was no improvement with engine stalling issue. I called and attempted to talk with the gentleman again. But, again he dismissed my conversation. He suggested that I had bad gas. Even though, I had already ran more than one tank through it this year, I drained the gas. Again, there was no improvement.

I called again, and again he was less than interested and rude during our conversation. Since they are the only authorized Cub Dealer in Blount County, I returned to try again. Again, the gentleman at the counter was dismissive and rude.

They allegedly serviced my mower again. I was told they had to replace the plugs, "blow out the carburetor" and adjust the valves. I was charged an additional $78. When I asked about charges the man at the counter stated "He didn't charge you enough for what he did really" I again question why I would be charged for a second set of plugs in less than 2 months. The response was that "We just start replacing things just like an owner would until we find out what's wrong"

I would not recommend this business to anyone. The gentleman behind the counter is argumentative and has been rude on every encounter that I have had with him.

I will never return to this business. I'm not even sure that they performed any of the service that I have been charged.
