Overall

I highly recommend him!

Have been going to Dr. Hinkens for many year now and she is the absolute best! Not only is he excellent for back pain and adjustments, but also, he is great for all other ailments as well such as chronic headaches, sprains, etc. I highly recommend him!

I would recommend anyone with back pains or just for wellness to pay him a visit

Chiropractic Adjustments
While chiropractic adjustment is for the spine, therapeutic modalities are important co-treatment modalities for your soft tissues. Rehabilitation helps with soft tissue injury and supports chiropractic therapy by getting your soft tissues ready to support your spine. Dr. Michael D. Hinkens offers a number of therapeutic modalities and customizes care for each patient.
Spinal Adjustments
Patients will generally be provided with their first treatment at the conclusion of the appointment. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies. Treatment is interactive with you so you can express any concerns you have about the style of adjustment you will be most comfortable with.
Stretching
Subluxation
Chiropractic care is a lot like working out. If you go for a workout the first time, you are not automatically in shape. Time is needed for your body to adjust and get healthy. Those muscles don’t build themselves. The same can be said of chiropractic care. When you have a subluxation, your body’s alignment may be off and in an effort to correct this, people often seek chiropractic care. However, just the same as working out, the muscles around the bone need to be built up to maintain their proper position. Thus, more than one chiropractic treatment may be required to help out while those muscles “get in shape” and hold the bones in place.
Manipulation Therapy
Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. Although chiropractic has an excellent safety record, no health treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects. The risks associated with chiropractic, however, are very small. Many patients feel immediate relief following chiropractic treatment, but some may experience mild soreness, stiffness or aching, just as they do after some forms of exercise. Current research shows that minor discomfort or soreness following spinal manipulation typically fades within 24 hours.
Chiropractic Injury Treatment
Most insurance plans are accepted at our office. We accept auto accident, workers compensation, personal injury and most health insurance plans, including Medicare. Since there are so many plans and coverage varies widely, please call us to find out if your plan covers care in our office. Our staff will verify and explain your benefits before treatment, at no charge.
Disc Herniation Treatment
During a car accident your body undergoes a rapid acceleration and/or deceleration which can cause injury. Usually the greater the speed of the cars involved, the greater the potential injury. As your body jerks about during this process it damages and stretches the soft tissue (ligaments, cartilage and muscle) that hold the spine together and give it stability. The resulting injury is characterized by some or all of the following: Pain, spasm, stiffness, headache, tingling, numbness, weakness, and difficulty sleeping or finding a comfortable position, soreness, dizziness. Severe trauma can result in concussion, disc herniation or fracture.
