Eleni's Restaurant

I've ordered carryout from Eleni's and found the food, service, and prices (based on large portions) to be excellent. Each carryout has equaled two healthy-sized meals for me. I've also dined in and received excellent service, thoroughly enjoyed the food (the fettucine afredo w/chicken is the best in the Fredericksburg area), and have actually driven just down from the 4-Mile Fork area of Spotsylvania County to Locust Grove to benefit by Eleni's delicious food via carryout. I know not everyone has the same tastes and opinions differ. Personally, I would highly recommend Eleni's to anyone - local or non-local. One thing, however, I do have a beef about. People who write public criticisms as ghostwriters - lol. Just a personal gripe -- each to his own.

The pizza is alright, it's basically the same exact thing as it was when it was Sparros except more expensive and somewhat lower quality. Since they opened in the bigger place, I prefer Bella Cucina down the street because it's like...real food...real cheese on the pizza, great toppings, great subs, ownder is a real nice guy. Eleni's is nothing special but for some reason flock to it and the owner is extremely rude at times. She has a serious attitude and so does an older women that works there. Even her responses to people reviews on here makes her business look bad. There have been times in the past that I ordered pizze and it took an hour for it to be ready for pickup. Anyway, I just went there and sat down inside to eat for the first time recently and I definitely won't be returning.

Strike three! Should have went to subway next door or stayed home. Would have been quicker, cheaper, and tasted better.

-20 min to find out no pickles for the fried pickles appetizer.
-soda flat
-missing cheese on sandwich.
-not sit down resturant quality food for what we got in my opinion.
-slow service (food), waiter was good.

I initially wasn't going to write this review, I was curious to see if anyone else had been through what I had, after reading the other comments and reviews I changed my mind. I had dinner there the other evening and I was sorely disappointed in my service and food. If I asked for anything I honestly felt that it was such an imposition to my server. Service was extremely slow, food greasy and I felt unwelcome. When I asked to see a "manager" about my food and service (all wife wanted to do was pay, leave, and never return). I had the pleasure of meeting Eleni,the owner, when I proceeded to inform her of my complaints she became overly defensive, stand offish,angry and plain rude, like I was expecting to much! She spoke down to me, in a very belittling manner and didn't care that she did! YOU DON'T TREAT OR SPEAK TO YOUR GUEST THAT WAY! Eleni you said it best in a reply to a guests review " ...I invite anyone to come face to face with me." Well if anyone chooses, BEWARE!!! (Hide)

Eleni's Restaurant is the best. She came over and talked with us. The food was great and the prices are not bad at all. The places looks great. The service was great over all my glass was always full and we did not have to wait for our food. We will be coming back to eat at Eleni's.

So overpriced, no kids menu... Definitely not Jimmys in stafford

Food:

My daughter ordered the B.L.T. and fries; I ordered the chicken wings appetizer. The food took approx. 40 minutes to arrive to the table. While this would be acceptable for more complex dishes or at a finer restaurant that involved more than one course, I did not expect it for a B.L.T. and some chicken wings. When the food arrived it was a mixed bag. I liked the chicken wings. They were slightly crunchy and smothered in a tame, but reasonably flavorful sauce. The chunky bleu cheese dressing that accompanied the wings was excellent. The B.L.T. was very average. It did not contain as much bacon as I am accustomed to and the veggies lacked freshness. The fries that accompanied the B.L.T. were to stay consistent - average and a little on the cold side.



Service:

Service, like the food, was average. A young man arrived at the table shortly after we arrived and took our drink order; the most noticeable mistake was that he failed to welcome us to the restaurant. He then returned to take our order, and while he was not rude, there was no sense of personality. During our 40 minute wait for our meal, he and another young man stopped by to refill our drinks. The second young man (dark hair, glasses) added a little personality with his "no worries" reply to my "thank you." I prefer the wait staff to add a little color to my experience and while it wasn't a lot, it was more than I got from the waiter. The food arrived, and it was then that we realized - we never received any silverware or napkins. We flagged down a waitress who promptly dropped some off. After the meal, we waited approx. 15 minutes before we flagged down the waiter to receive the check. So again, while the service was not horrible or offensive, it was very plain and uninteresting.



Ambience:

The décor and atmosphere of Eleni's is bright and warm. Some TVs, a modest bar, and some earthy colors make it a comfortable environment. There were some pieces of straw wrapper and some other items on the floor, but nothing out of the ordinary for this level of an eatery. They also look like they were still doing some work in the back of the restaurant. Again, very average overall, but with some promise if they could make sweeping around tables part of the cleanup process and cleanup the very rear of the place.



Price:

$20

I think the price for the food was reasonable. The B.L.T. came with fries and we both had a soda. So the price of $20, while not a great deal, was fair.



Overall Value:

Overall, Eleni's was slightly below average. The price was average. The food, service, and ambience were a little less than average. The ambience is one area that could improve through some rather simple steps. The food took a hit due to the slowness of the kitchen and a boring B.L.T. with cold fries. The service had no personality. I hope Eleni's gets better in time and may venture out again in a couple months to see if it settles in.

Terrible service, cold food, staff obviously didn't want to be there. Possibly the worst dining experience I have had in recent memory. We would have been better off going next door to Subway!

Worst Customer Service in the Resturant industry!!!!!! I went there with my family for the first time just to order deserts for the kids to give it a try. I tried it and sure enough it was!! I asked my waiter if we could exchange it for a simple sundae similar to my son's, and he said he would have to check. The owner to him to tell me NO!! I was shocked!! I asked to speak with the owner, and she said that her reasturant was not a tasting resturant!! Seriously!! Isn't it common to take care of your customers when in the resturant industry?? There are too many resturant competitiors to treat customers this way. Even my 8 year old son who makes crafts and sells them on his own said "Daddy, if I ever had one of my customers not happy with what I made I would make them another one"! If he gets it at 8 years old, this surley isn't a place to dine!!!
