General Info: The Department of Correctional Services, also known as DOCS, is responsible for the confinement and habilitation of more than 60,000 inmates in over 65 state correctional facilities. It provides public safety services and has a security services unit. The department also offers information related to inmates. The Department of Correctional Services provides resource management and library solutions. In addition, it offers a transitional services program. The department provides substance abuse treatment services. The Department of Correctional Services also operates a hispanic and cultural affairs division. It offers guidance and counseling solutions. The department is governed by New York State.
