DUI/DWI
After passing the bar exam, he began practicing law with Beamer Barnes on September 26th 1963. Barnes & Grimes law firm was founded in August of 1964. The firm eventually changed its name to Barnes, Grimes, Bunce & Fraley. Jerry remains an active partner with the firm to this day. He initially began practicing general law, later shifting to practice criminal cases almost exclusively, with an emphasis on handling DWI cases.

Traffic Violations
I definitely would recommend this firm. I got a 70 in a 55 speeding ticket and as promised, they were able to get it reduced to improper equipment so that I didn't get any points against my license. Hopefully I won't need to use them again but if I do, I'm definitely calling this office!

Shawn Frayley represented me in serveral cases from tickets to drug charges to probation violations. My cases were so bad I should still be serving time, but Shawn helped me over and over again knowing I had it in me to do right. Even when he was court appointed he not only tried harder but did better for me than any other lawyer ever has. He came to see me in jail on July 4th just to tell me to keep my head up and things were going to be ok. If it weren't for Shawn saving my ass Im sure I would not have started or graduated college, got married, or had my son.

Sheila was born and raised in Lexington, NC. She graduated from Central Davidson High School in 1977, then obtained an Associates in Criminal Justice from Davidson County Community College in 1979. She began working as a paralegal at Barnes, Grimes & Bunce in 1987, where her initial focus was on criminal and domestic cases with Jerry Grimes; she then transitioned into working primarily on personal injury and workers compensation cases with Linwood Bunce. Sheila now also handles estate administration along with personal injury and workers comp cases. Sheila has served on the board for Cancer Services of Davidson County and the Calvary Family Worship Center. When she is not at work, Sheila enjoys beach trips with friends and weekends with her grandson.

Personal Injury
Bunce began their legal careers at our firm. Then in 2003, attorney Shawn Fraley joined the firm after working in the District Attorney’s Office. Attorney Wes Brittain joined the firm in 2014, after working in private practice with a focus on personal injury for five years.
Dog Bites
Wes handles cases involving personal injury, worker’s compensation, trucking accidents, wrongful death, dog bites, and criminal defense.
