This is the formal complaint that I sent to the Maine Attorney General’s office, and should line out using ONLY FACTS why I would NEVER do business with TWIN CITY AUTO. Note: certain names, addresses have been removed to protect those not involved.

COMPLAINT: I would like to file a formal complaint through the Attorney Generals office regarding a very recent purchase (10/15/2019) of a 2001 GMC Sierra HD pickup truck from Twin City Auto (1073 Sabattus Street Lewiston, ME 04240). The dealer knowingly sold me a truck that had significant structural damage to the frame that when looked at by two different Maine inspection stations failed to meet the requirement to hold a Maine State Inspection sticker.

I paid 12,272.00 for a vehicle that was advertised as being "2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD, 4X4, Crew Cab, 148,000 miles, New Rocker Panels and Cab corners, 4 New Tires, Leather interior, Power Seat, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Power mirrors, Ice cold Air conditioning, Aftermarket back up camera, CD player, Frame and Cross-members are in excellent shape, all freshly undercoated with "no drip" undercoating, all inspected, ready to GO!!!"
The vehicle however had major Frame and cross-member degradation and multiple holes that two certified auto-bodies both stated in writing that this vehicle is un-inspectable due to rusted frame.

On 16Oct2019, I contacted Eric Veilleux (TWIN CITY AUTO SALESMEN) via text and informed him of all of the above information and that the truck is NOT inspectable. After much back and forth over text, I concluded that I no longer wanted this vehicle and requested to drop the truck back off and requested a refund in the amount of 12,272.00 and that I not get dragged into a food fight between the garage that inspected the truck and his Auto Sales store. I was NOT sold a vehicle that is safely capable of hauling cattle for my farm, I have a customer that I am buying 6 head of cattle off next week that I intended to use the truck to haul them back from Fort Kent, this has put me in a bind that I will not be able to meet customer demands or requirements to stay on schedule for the farm and I have already lost substantial income trying to return this vehicle.

On 16OCT2019, I text Eric that I was coming to Twin City Auto and dropping off the vehicle and requesting a full refund. He told me he would not meet me at his place of business or provide me with a refund. My pregnant wife who is 8 months along and 3 year old son and 18 month old daughter had to drive all the way to Lewiston (50 miles one way) to find out that Eric Veilleux would not meet me at the place of business or provide me with a refund. My wife endured undue stress, and has experienced pain from having to drive long distances while 8 months pregnant. This has been very stressful for our family as my wife and I both retired Aug of 2018 from the United States Marine Corps after 15 years each of faithful service, I was medically retired due to wounds received in combat.

I contacted Maine State Police Inspector on 16Oct2019) and verbally requested my vehicle to be inspected as it was evident the dealership was unwilling to work with me on returning a vehicle that didn't meet the minimum requirement of Maine State inspection standards. The Maine State Police Inspector on 17OCT2019 inspected the 2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD and after inspecting said the vehicle did not meet the Maine State inspection standard and scrapped the sticker off the vehicle.

I am requesting a complete refund from Twin City Auto in the amount of 12,272.00. They will have to pay for towing fees to get the truck back to their lot as the truck is park due to not meeting the Maine inspection requirement. If this issue is not resolved by 31OCT2019 then I will file a civil action against Twin City Auto with additional damages to include emotional suffering.
