Dental Examination
Consultation and exam. Before deciding if dental implants are right for you, we will complete a comprehensive exam, including x-rays to measure bone health, then discuss your treatment options.
X-rays
Your dental hygienist will take you back to the exam room and will take any dental x-rays or photos that are required.

Dental Sealants
Sealants are a thin coating that is painted on teeth to protect them from cavities, they are typically used in children, but can be used in adults as well. Sealants are a quick and affordable option to prevent cavities and tooth fillings. They can dramatically reduce the number of fillings placed in permanent teeth during critical stages of growth and development. On the chewing surface of molars, deep grooves reach into the center of the teeth. Under a microscope, these crevices might look like a deep canyon. In fact, most of them are narrower than a single toothbrush bristle but wide enough for bacteria to hide. It’s easy to see how cavities can form in such a perfect hideout. If the grooves in permanent molars are sealed at a young age, the risk of decay occurring on the chewing surfaces decreases dramatically.

Fillings
A filling is a simple restoration procedure primarily used to restore cavities or other mild decay or deterioration. Fillings are extremely common and have a high success rate. We offer options for composite fillings and amalgam fillings—both are safe. Which type we use depends on your needs, but we commonly use composite fillings because they are tooth-colored and appear more natural for teeth that are visible and easier for others to see or notice.
Resin Composite
Inlays and onlays are bonded directly onto the teeth using special high-strength resins that can actually increase the strength of a tooth by 75 percent. As a result, they can last 10 – 30 years. Both inlays and onlays can be made of porcelain, gold, or composite resin. These pieces are bonded to the damaged area of the tooth.
Veneers
Dental veneers provide an excellent solution if you are looking to enhance your smile. They are a popular cosmetic treatment because of their overall effectiveness and ease of use.
Crowns
Under NO circumstances should you pick the tooth up by the roots. Hold the tooth at the crown (chewing surface). Be very gentle when handling the tooth and do your best not to damage the roots for greater chances of reimplantation.

This involves our dentist removing tartar and oral bacteria from the areas made more likely to collect plaque because of gum retraction. Those same areas are then smoothed, eliminating periodontal pockets, and making it harder for bacteria to fill them going forward.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
You should expect some general aches and pains associated with any oral surgery procedure. Any pains from the procedure should be relieved in about a week. We will also prescribe you painkillers to help you manage your pain. Once your implant sites have healed, however, you will experience much more comfort than you would with other tooth replacement options.
Osseous Surgery
Tooth Extractions
Tooth extraction is typically a very fast process—we will use anesthesia to ensure you’re comfortable. The most critical part of the process is recovery. We need to make sure we control the bleeding and encourage a proper healing process immediately following the tooth extraction. This involves having you bite down on a gauze pad for 30 to 45 minutes to form a blood clot. You must be extremely careful not to disturb the blood clot for the next 24 hours. To manage swelling, we recommend an ice pack on the outer cheek, and once swelling has gone down, a warm compress to the same area for comfort. Gentle rinses with warm saltwater also help keep the extraction area clean.
Bone Grafting
For more severe cases bone grafting is required. This is because in advanced cases where bacteria has seeped into the bones it causes a loss of bone mass over time. New bone can be generated however through surgical means by the placement of proteins and other materials into the affected bones. If teeth have been lost, this bone grafting is necessary to for their restoration in the form of dental implants.

Porcelain veneers on the other hand may start to stick out more over time compared to the teeth surrounding them. This might me you will need to consider whitening your teeth to match the shade of your porcelain veneers as time goes on.
