Charging over 2 times more than your competitor is too much.

Maxx Air quoted over $1000 to replace a circuit board on my AC. (This is a circuit board anyone can buy from Goodman for less than $200). I don't know enough to replace the board myself, I called another AC company. They completed the job for less than $400, labor included.

Maxx A/C charged us $320 for $35 CRSU2 start capacitor (Walmart or Amazon) that took 15 minutes to install and was unrelated to problem. Problem was finally corrected 3 service calls later.

Called them out to 2 separate properties and they told me that I needed a new compressor at both sites. Quoted me a ridiculous price and I said no. Paid them several hundred dollars for "diagnosis" and told them to leave. Called out another company and they had both units running again in 3 hours. Paid them a fair price and both units have been running great ever since. Bi feel that they tried to rip me off by selling me stuff I did not need just like other reviews on this site. I would never call them again. Call ackles A/C in friendswood for great work at very price.

Great customer service and the guy who came out knew what he was talking about. Fixed my A/C at a reasonable price. Unlike other companies the guy was very professional.

Do not call this business for AC repairs. Their technicians can't even properly diagnose what is wrong with the system. Why would you pay $89 to someone who does not know what they are doing? Poor customer service when owner confronted with these issues.

SHOP AROUND FOR A BETTER PRICE WE WERE QUOTED A VERY HIGH PRICE TO REPLACE A UNIT. WE HAD ABOUT 5 OTHER QUOTES THAT WERE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO MAXX'S HIGH PRICE. WE ENDED UP WITH A BETTER UNIT AT HALF THE PRICE FROM MAXX.

Repair FRAUD and HI PRESSURE SALES.

Refused to repair our A/C unit and trying to sell us a NEW A/C system,

Called in SouthBelt A/C, they replaced the dryer unit & recharge the freon.

It's still working now (and that's 2 full mths of round the clock running)

Charged a total of 415 dollars to replace a capacitor!!! which costs $30.

In addition to a diagnostic charge of $89, Their quote for capacitor is $315( sells in most electrical stores for $30-50. The price was not informed initially and was reflected in the final bill. Technician spent 20 minutes overall, was trying to sell their annual protection plans. The owner defended his price as he wants to avoid unnecessary sales tax and made no consolation.

Overall look into other reasonable companies for your a/c repair. Expensive lesson learnt.
