What a clip joint. Whatever you do, do NOT let them put your car on a lift because once you do you're going to be paying and paying and paying.



We needed a very simple exhaust hanger put back on. It took a total of 10mins from the time the guy drove the car onto the lift until the moment he drove it off the lift. 10 minutes and one new doughnut style exhaust hanger which was a $2.00 part from O'Reilly. The guy charged us $30 for that and then charged even more when a credit card was presented stating "We have to pay sales tax when you use a credit card." $30 to put on a $2.00 hanger. Such price gouging left such a horrible taste in our mouth, we'll go somewhere else (and even pay more money) just so this young guy doesn't get of our money. Had he been smart, he would have been fair about re-attaching the hanger, anticipating we'd return when it was time for that car to get some serious exhaust work done. Simple minded, greedy thinking leads to no return or repeat business; leads to reviews such as this one; and also leads to us telling any and all who will listen just exactly how messed up an operation Downtown Muffler is. Oh, and yes, we did suggest the price was rather high for what little work was done and we were berated for not knowing how much rent the joint was paying; what the cost of the lifts were; what the price of other tools cost, blah, blah, blah. Poor customer relations and youthful arrogance leads to no repeat business and informing any and all NOT to go to this place if at all avoidable.
