Business Transactions
We work with employers in anticipating and resolving employee issues arising with company downsizing and reorganization, mergers and acquisitions, and ordinary business transactions.

Workers Compensation
Employers must comply with strict federal laws and regulations on family and medical leave. Related state laws add another layer of complexity and confusion. This seminar provides an overview of those laws and offers pointers on developing policies that achieve company compliance. We also discuss the complicated and all-too-frequent situations involving the FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation and disability policies. The seminar provides a list of "do's and don'ts" for use in administering leave policies.
Employment Discrimination
This is our broadest legal training seminar. Participants learn the legal aspects of key areas of employee relations, including the high-risk areas of hiring, firing, disciplinary actions, and company reorganizations including downsizing and layoffs. They will discover how state and federal laws impact the employer/employee relationship, including medical leave and the FMLA, wage & hour issues, affirmative action, immigration, and labor relations. We highlight the topic of employment discrimination, including discrimination based on race, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, and disability. Through discussions of actual cases and examples using workplace situations, your managers see exactly how these laws impact the workplace. We strongly recommend this seminar for all front line managers and human resources personnel, and we encourage you to provide this seminar to non-managerial employees as well.
Employment Contract
We regularly draft and review employment contracts, handbooks, policies, applications, and similar documents to increase their effectiveness and decrease employer exposure to litigation.
Employment Litigation
We defend employers in state and federal court litigation related to employment claims, and regularly represent clients before administrative agencies. We have handled virtually every type of discrimination claim including those involving sexual harassment, gender, disability, age, race, religion, and national origin.
Sexual Harassment
We routinely provide clients with on-site legal awareness training as a means of preventing as many problems as possible before they arise. Training modules are specifically tailored to meet client needs and are regularly presented on topics including, among others, workplace violence, sexual harassment prevention, diversity and hiring/interviewing practices.

Construction Litigation
Harry R. ("Rick") Harmon established the firm in 1978 and serves as Managing Partner of Harmon & Davies, P.C. Rick concentrates his practice on the representation of business and management in the areas of employment and construction law. He has represented employers in various employment related matters before federal and state courts, Courts of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Rick regularly conducts training programs for his clients on compliance with federal, state and local laws and is a frequent speaker at labor and employment seminars for attorneys, personnel professionals and business leaders. Rick’s construction practice includes the representation of general contractors, trade contractors and design professionals in the resolution of disputes.

Landlord-Tenant Disputes
Harmon & Davies offers guidance to landowners and businesses on many issues involving real estate. We have counseled clients in connection with land acquisition, commercial developments, contract negotiations and establishment of taverns and restaurants. We also have assisted clients during every aspect of the construction and development phases of real property, including structuring and negotiating project financing, lease negotiations, drafting of leases, quiet title actions, subdivision, acquisition and sale of business and property, landlord and tenant actions, actions involving real estate covenants and easements, restrictions, obtaining required certifications, and filing and resolving mechanic's lien issues.

Foreclosure
We represent clients in proceedings before both state and federal courts, arbitration panels, mediators and government agencies. We have litigated claims related to contesting title to property, lien disputes, commercial landlord tenant actions, breach of leases and land sales contracts, and foreclosures. And we have drafted deeds of trust and security agreements, and handled compliance issues under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
