I had a new system installed in my Cadillac Escalade in January, 2009 after the factory system failed. The system was a Pioneer AVIC-Z3 with steering wheel interface module, bluetooth interface, iPod interface, reverse camera, and PAC interface. I didn't use the vehicle much when I was in Lake Havasu, but on the way back to Alberta in April, I noticed that there was a electronic whining noise coming through the speakers, and the bass and speaker channels were cutting in and out. Upon arriving back in Canada, I talked with Ken (the owner) and he suggested that maybe there was a ground loop isolator filter required to eliminate the problem. When I took the vehicle into a local shop to have the issues addressed, they informed me that the PAC interface module was not working properly, and the wiring installation was the worst they'd ever seen. There were splices upon splices, tee taps in numerous places throughout the wiring harness ... making it next to impossible to troubleshoot. To make a long story shorter, after paying $3200 USD to Cartronics for the initial purchase and installation, I had to pay an additional $415 CDN to get the system working properly. All Ken had to say when I talked to him was that I was the first to raise a concern ... and that sometimes shops badmouth the work of other shops. No offer was made to address any part of the additional costs I incurred to get my system operating correctly.
