Stars Cleaners

Stars Cleaners located at 534 S. Mason Rd. Katy, Texas 77450 is operated by a swindler. I have been frequenting this particular dry cleaner for approximately 9 months. I bring in clothes about twice a month. Every time I pick up my clothes I casually give my clothes a once over just to ensure that there are no burns. It has happened to me in the past and I am sure that it will happen to me again. Upon picking up my clothes today (4/24/13) I inspected my clothes as I always do since I do not wear cheap clothes. I noticed on the first pair of pants that I inspected had several burn marks that had gone all the way through the pants and had left holes on the inner calf of one of the legs. This particular pair of pants retails for approximately $250.00. I brought this to the attention of the cashier who took the pants to the back to consult with a manager. That manager came to the front of the store to speak with me and rudely insisted that there was no way it could have happened there at the store. I asked where else it could have happened since when I brought them in they were not in that condition. The manager insisted that I was to blame since I had inspected my product before leaving the store, implying that I had known about the burn before I had brought them in and I was trying to recoup my money through him. I responded that there was no way that could have happened since I do not iron or wash/dry these clothes ever, they are always brought to the same dry cleaners, his dry cleaner. He insisted that since I had inspected the clothes I had known prior, even though the store has a sign that clearly states that every customer must inspect their clothes prior to leaving or they cannot be returned for damages. I pointed this out and the owner but he insisted that I was still to blame. He then proceeded to ring me up for the balance that I owed him. I considered walking out without paying but decided against it because the other items I had there were done correctly. I instead paid for everything except the ruined pants being the type of person that I am. It is obvious that Stars Cleaners is not operated by an honorable person and I would recommend that anyone considering the use of this establishment quickly change their mind and go somewhere else. Otherwise your clothes are likely to be burned and you will find no help from the staff.
