Farmers Mutual Insurance Company was founded as a result of a local group of men realizing the need for protection from catastrophic losses in their community. The company was chartered by the State of Tennessee Department of Insurance on June 4, 1898. The company grew and provided insurance for many people in Washington County throughout the years that followed. Farmers Mutual Insurance Company is a proud member of N.A.M.I.C. (National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies) and T.A.M.I.C. (Tennessee Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. Our personal, farm, and church liability coverages are offered through Farmers Mutual of Tennessee.Our company strives to give our costumers personal attention to every need concerning their policies with us. All of our employees and board of directors are local people that hold integrity and honest business principles in our community. In 2007, Farmers Mutual Insurance Company opened it's coverage area to include Washington, Carter, and Unicoi counties.
