Highly recommend. Competitive leasing rates and great customer service. We have lived here for about 6 months and have had no problems. Anytime we contact the leasing office, they are quick to respond. They’ve been extremely helpful to tenants during COVID-19 - allowing rent payments, offering to help elderly/immune comprised/etc

What a great place to live! Spacious, and cozy yet very affordable. It is also very close to East Tennessee State University making it a great place for living off campus. It even has a bus stop that students ride for free!

Living at Homestead Properties has been a wonderful experience for me as a busy college student. Any problem that I may have, they are always happy to fix it and the staff is super sweet. I am constantly studying for school, so I have no problems with noises because of the quite environment it is in. I definitely recommend living here!

This place has all that I needed in an apartment. The staff are kind and very easy to get along with. Any issues I've had in the past 2 years were all taken care of. The area is quiet and everything is easy to get to. I would recommend it!

I absolutely loved living with Homestead Properties! The leasing agent was very knowledgeable about all properties and was happy to show all properties to myself and my roommate. The location was great (Pecan Court), right next to ETSU, but still had that homey feel unlike many apartments in that area. During my time living here, I only had one maintenance issue that was fixed in a very timely manner; I actually got home the same day it was reported with a note saying that it was fixed. The only downside was the parking, but the lot has since been re-paved and it looks great! The closet space was amazing and something that I really looked for in an apartment. I was also happy that I had plenty of outside space to run my dog and make it a great space for him, too. I suggest Homestead to anyone looking to rent because the experience created by the staff, on top of the apartment itself, was very enjoyable!

I have lived in two different apartments with Homestead Properties and have had a great experience both times. Their units have been updated and are maintained really well. The staff is super friendly. I would highly recommend.

Overall

I have been with Homestead Properties about 3 years now. I highly recommend them. The first year, I lived at Willow Creek with a roommate. She organized everything, so I didn’t know much of what was going on when it came to dealing with the management and such. I was told that our fridge leaked, and it was reported. The maintenance guys came over many times and finally got the thing fixed. Still no idea what happened, but they were friendly and came to fix the fridge without delay when we called. I ended up needing a change in apartment size and let the office know I would not remain in the same apartment. I will say that was frustrating to the max. It is true, they changed managers several times. BUT-that was 2 years ago, and I believe we have had the same manager since, so I won’t elaborate on my frustrations. I will also say that they must have hired a really good manager, because I have seen changes take place in the last 2 years that can only mean someone really knows what they are doing.

With that being said, I have had many interactions with Homestead since moving into my new apartment. I believe all of them have been good. I also want to add that they choose their maintenance staff carefully. All of them have been super friendly but not in a creepy way. I have been impressed with them every time. The reasons for my calls were normal. I complained that my dishwasher had broken. I think I left a voicemail, but they sent someone to fix it that same day. It ended up being replaced in a very short time period. The fridge had a similar story. Same goes with complaints about neighbors. I never called, but I saw a bad event that was quickly and quietly taken care of by management. I do not know if that neighbor still lives there. Every time I fuss about something, it is taken seriously and taken care of quickly. I also do not abuse this, which might help. I’ve called maybe twice about maintenance-related things in the 2 years I have lived in this particular apartment. It was about the dishwasher and something else I can’t remember. When you leave for vacation, they ask their clients to call the office so that they can monitor the apartment and make sure everything is safe, such as watching that pipes don’t bust during with winter while you are gone, etc. Since I have been here, the pipes have not broken even once. That could be partly because of the friendly reminders we get taped to our doors asking us to keep the water dripping. We frequently get newsletters taped to our doors (quarterly?). Information includes things like when the pool opens or reminders to keep our water trickling in winter.

Overall, if you are looking for an apartment, I would recommend Homestead Properties. They take care of problems and are really friendly. The staff are patient and knowledgeable. They leave you alone, which is also nice. When they send people to work on your apartment, they only send pleasant people. If you want a place where you feel at home and at peace, and safe, this is where you want to go.

And-just as a side note, I am receiving no compensation for this review. I just wish more people would write reviews-good or bad. I wanted to know what I was getting into when searching for an apartment, and could find almost no information from tenants. Please, if you’re impressed with a place, or really annoyed and leaving a place, please leave a review to help out others looking for an apartment!

The place is gross. I broke my lease early just to get away from the rude staff and sub par living. The appliances (fridge, stove, etc.) were older than me and I am 27. Say yourself the headache and do not move here.

Pecan Court

They showed us a display unit, but the unit we got had a lot of problems.

Stove is VERY old. At least from the 80s. They said they will replace it, but I guess we'll see.

Fridge is also pretty old, has some rust. The stripping around it is messed up and it is definitely leaking air, which I'm sure will cost a fortune in electricity.

However, the dishwasher is brand new. :)

Countertops are chipped.

The pipes are rusted, and the water is brown at times. Make sure you have a water filter to drink out of and a filter on your washer.

The floors creak EVERYWHERE and are kind of loud.

The carpet is way below par - stains, cigarette burns, and iron burn. However, I have a dog so I understand why they didn't replace it.

At least one of our outlets has a short in it, which makes me feel not so safe.

Many of the doors seem crooked, but at closer inspection the actual door frames are crooked.

Neighbors seem nice and I don't really hear them unless they are running up and down the stairs.

Parking is pretty terrible.

It was still pretty dirty when I moved in. Seems they don't clean much, instead they just paint over it. The maintenance also painted several of the doors closed.

Bottom line is: it's not really worth the price of almost $700 a month, and I'll probably move as soon as my lease is up. If you're looking for a nice home, you should probably pass this one up. However, if you're in college and mommy and daddy still pay all your bills, it's very convenient to be this close to campus.

DO NOT RENT HERE!

I lived at their buccaneer apartments from 2009 until 2010 and my experience was horrible! First of all, there were window units that didn't work in the year 2010? They were awful, barely worked and really noisy! The staff was really phoney. They were pleasant to your face and rude behind your back. The maintenace men were not certified to complete most repairs so you were better off doing it yourself. I would have rather slept in my car rather than rent at this run down shack! My advice to the staff, maintain the quality of your property and don't neglect the properties! PLEASE, do not make the same mistake that I did. If you are desperate, check out piney flats. At least they have a caring, certified staff.
