I went there for an alignment, two hours in they said I need to change my ball points because they were bad and they had to order the parts. My car is older so I trusted them. They order the parts and I came in a week later to have it changed at 9. They call at 3pm to tell me they accidentally broke a part on my car and it needed to be fixed. They told me it was 60 more dollars to fix it. I was a little upset at this point but just said okay. I go to pick up my car at 5:30pm, they tell me that I have my car was a little troublesome but they aligned it, and that I have a leak in my brake line. I pay for it and start driving it, when I realize my brake light is on and it wasn’t on before I took it to get fixed and my car did not even seemed to be aligned right. The people seemed nice and friendly but I wouldn’t go back there cause of the issues that seem to take place.

I had my wife take one of our cars there for some work and an oil change. They did a very good job and the cost seemed reasonable.

I decided to take our other two vehicles in for service and some repair work. After picking the cars up and bringing them home. One of the vehicles was not repaired properly and I went back the next day to share that with them. The owner came out and talked with me. I explained the problem to him and told him I didn't want to get anyone in trouble. He listened intently and explained he would never want to do substandard work. He then went and talked with his mechanics. They felt they needed to make it right and they all gave their time to get the problem repaired and make things right. Upon getting my vehicle back on the road everything worked great!

I cannot say enough about the friendliness of the mechanics and the owner. I will continue to bring all my vehicles there to be worked on. The honesty and integrity of the owner are hard to come by anymore. I appreciate his loyalty to his customers. They have won we over for a lifetime. Thanks! Scott C.

Repair Job Frustration

First, I will say each time I have been there the staff has been more than friendly. This us one of the reasons I let them work on my car. I trusted them. However, the experience with their work is another matter.I took my car in with an over heating issue. When I was told it was a cracked radiator I did not question the diagnosis And let them replace it. Since I also needed a belt replaced and since it was a simple task once the radiator was off I negotiated for small break on the labor for doing that one task. Tom said they ordinarily are required to charge a minimum of one hour labor, but would not charge since it could be done without much effort while changing the radiator. When I picked up my car, however, the price charged was exactly the same as if they had charged an hour for the belt. I was told that because the radiator was aftermarket a significant amount of fabrication was needed to get it to fit. I later discovered through two separate and reliable sources this should not have been the case. I paid for the job and went on my merry way. On my way home that night I got stranded when my car overheated. I brought it back and was then told it must be the pump as a new thermostat had already been installed. At the time this sounded reasonable as a potential root cause of the first problem. Again I left my car in their care. Two days later I got a call from Tom and he explained the car was still overheating and the first thermostat must have been defective. at this point I began to question their qualifications. When I finally got my car back I was charged about $300 for installing a new pump. Remember, they told me the thermostat was the problem. When I asked I was told the pump was also bad and was rightfully replaced. At this point I am very skeptical and asked if I could see that old pump. It was a weekend when I asked for this and the location where they took my car was closed. I called that location the first business day after and was told the pump was already taken away for scrap. I don't know who lied to me in this organization. Maybe Tom did not know what his mechanics were doing. However, I am convinced I was not told the truth. I suspect the mechanics are not trained very well and may be learning at the customers expense. Adding to this experience, as if it was really not enough, it is now Winter and the heated has not been working properly since I first tried it. I just took the vehicle to another mechanic who said the cooling system had air trapped in it. Rapid Lube apparently did not burp the system when installing that pump. I was told this may actually cause overheating. I can't say this was the reason Rapid Lube experienced overheating after they changed the pump, but given my overall experience it would not surprise me. Again, they have always been friendly. This was never an issue and I do not feel everyone in this business is dishonest. However, I am convinced they are inept when it comes to mechanical issues and someone within that business was not honest. If you are getting an oil change you should have no problem. However, unless you want your car to be a training tool for mechanics without certifications do not leave your car with them.

That's funny i have had my car service there a few times and had bad luck every time, also i know for a fact Heather and Jennifer both work at the place next door and also Kermit is a friend of there owners...i find this really sad they use there own employees and friends to vouch for bad service...there biggest issue is the old guy that's very rude and no at all friendly or professional. most other people working there are nice,...nt low prices and good service go to bridgeWay end of Jefferson city on way toward morrsitown..

Had to have new tires, brakes, and an oil change on my car recently. Tom and his staff were great from the moment I walked in. Being a female, I don't know much about cars they made sure I was well informed on everything they were doing. Seeing as how they had other customers and my car was going to take a little while, they even offered to take me to my house. I highly recommend Pennzoil in Jeff City and will be using them for all my future car needs.

Engine Problem Fixed

Have been having a lot of mechanical problems with my car, took it to the Jefferson City location and was blown away with the knowledge of there manager Mr. Bruno, he went into depth of what the previous mechanics had apparently fixed, and found out that they really hadn't done nothing but waste my time & money. Mr.Bruno and knowledge saved me a lot of time & money. Awsome place and will be returning for my mechanical needs. Thanks again for the help.

TOTALLY JACKED UP SERVICE

Will never return for an oil change! My car was leaking oily fluid. Being a car that is only 1 yr old, i took it to my dealership to be looked at.They failed to tighten the oil filter properly causing the leak. When I spoke with a manager he had to consult with owner. Manager called back to me and said they weren't going to refund my money for a service they failed to complete properly. The owner contacted me and said how do I know a rock didn't cause the filter to become loose. Really!?! That is one magic freakin rock!
