I ask to speak to the manager they sen out our waiter who was rude and never said I'm sorry he just said it won't happen again! Well I know that because I won't be back!!!

Horrible!! Still smelled like the old Wendy's. Service was horrible, our server brought our food and never checked on us again. No refills nothing. My boyfriend's plate looked like Alpo (no kidding), we were both very dissatisfied and won't be going back there again. It 's just well worth the extra drive to Birmingham to get some real Japanese food.

I was very suprised and pleased with our experence at Sakura except for one thing. The no class morons who come to dine and wear caps. Show a little class and remove the

cap when entering any resturant. No one is going steal your dirty cap..

Ah ya gotta give em a Mulligan...

Ah ya gotta give em a Mulligan for yesterday. That was their first first day open! A bunch of wide-eyed native Walker countians taking sushi orders? Almost makes me giggle. I found the hostess to be quite fetching and friendly. She was however Chinese and not Japanese.. High point was the tempura. Very crisp , very light and quite good. Low point was the 40 min wait but next time I will call ahead.

Apparently the new owners did all the renovations themselves and truly turned a sow's ear of a building into a silk purse..I also will be back

As a connoisseur of Japanese c...

As a connoisseur of Japanese cuisine, I have to say that this was not terrible. The decor is stylish and inviting. Tasteful blue lights line the room along with colorful lanterns and dim lights over dark cherry wood tables and comfortable chairs. If you haven't lived in Jasper all your life, you might not even know it used to be a Wendy's.

The rice is really strange. If you expect fried rice similar to that found in Chinese restaurants or other Hibachis, you'll be disappointed. The rice is glazed and while tasty, it is not what is commonly served in this area at similar restaurants.

The Hibachi dinners are nicely portioned for the price and the chicken and shrimp plate was delicious, served with a vegetable medley and Yum-Yum sauce (also called Shrimp Sauce). Not bad for around $7.

The Bentos are really just four-part meals served on a stylish sectioned plate. The Bento is a smaller portion of the Hibachi dinner, a smaller portion of rice, a four-piece sushi roll and a spring roll. These are around $7-9. Lunch and Dinner sizes are available.

The Sushi was alright. The fish was a large portion per roll (which is nice since so many places are stingy with the fish in their sushi) and the price was a bit high but not terrible at $4.99 per roll (4-6 pieces each) and $2 each for nigiri (individual larger pieces). My only complaints were that the sushi was served a bit warmer than I like (room temperature) and the wasabi tasted cheap.

This restaurant serves Coca-cola products.

I have to say that the service would not win any awards however. The server mumbled, was not very helpful, ignored our requests while talking on the phone, and was incompetent at simple tasks such as fetching silverware or providing all of the necessities for dining. The other employees seemed nice enough. I'm hoping that less-than-stellar servers will be replaced over time and the service will not be a hindrance to the restaurant's success.

All in all, for the food, I would definitely eat here again. The price was around $40 for three people having Hibachi, Bento and Sushi. There is a special lunch menu starting at $4.99 between 11am and 3pm. I definitely would recommend giving this place a try!
