Oil Change
The automotive industry has seen tremendous improvements in the oils used in our vehicles. Today your vehicle will have either conventional oil, synthetic blend oil, or full synthetic oil. Each of these have different service interval recommendations. At Kremer Services we recommend you follow the factory recommended oil change interval for your vehicle. If you are not sure, just ask and we can look it up and inform you as to the proper interval for the vehicle you drive. Due to the demands we put on our cars, pick ups, and SUV’s with stop & go driving in the Minneapolis and St Paul area, regular oil service is one of the most important services you have performed. Longer oil change intervals may appear as money saving on the surface, but the regular inspections Kremer Services performs on every vehicle while having scheduled oil service performed will discover many problems while they are still minor. Catching problems and repairing them while minor will “in the long run” save you much more money than eliminating an oil change here to there.

Even though a tune up is no longer a regular service for most of today’s high tech vehicles, what is very important is following your vehicle’s regular schedule maintenance schedule. Having regular oil and lubrication service, fluid flushes, steering, alignment & suspension maintenance, filter changes, timing belt or timing chain service, and the other maintenance services recommended in your owner’s manual will extend the life of your vehicle and help provide trouble free driving. There is an effort by some dealerships to try to convince you that only the dealer where you purchased your vehicle can perform factory scheduled maintenance. There is no truth to this claim. There is even a federal law called the Magnussen Moss Warranty Act that was put in to law in 1975 that makes it clear that you can have recommended factory scheduled maintenance performed at an independent repair facility like Kremer Services.

Air Conditioning Service/Repair
The Environmental Protection Agency determined that Freon known as R-12 or CFC-12 was damaging the ozone layer and stopped production of the material. Now R-12 Freon is hard to find and very expensive. Although most vehicles produced before 1995 use R-12 in their air conditioning systems our Technicians can retrofit your vehicle to the new approved R134a. R134a is a more environmentally friendly freon. This retrofit is more cost effective than attempting to repair the older systems.

A degree in heavy duty truck repair and/or DOT certifications is a plus, but not required. We are a busy shop with a large and diverse customer base which leads to steady work throughout the year.
