Just In Time Tree Service

Justin and his crew arrived two hours late to take down a tree next to my shed. They dropped a branch on the edge of my shed's roof, denting the drip edge and breaking two of the shingles. One of them told me that they bent the drip edge but didn't say anything about the broken shingles. I planned to just hammer the drip edge back into shape myself.

When I went out to do it I saw the rest of the mess they left: twigs everywhere, bunches of leaves from the tree, cigarette butts, and discarded drink bottles.

When I called Justin he did his best to tell me I was wrong, didn't know what I was talking about, it couldn't have been him! He finally agreed that he would come out the next morning at 9am to fix it.

He didn't show up until 10:30. Justin and his helper pulled the broken shingles off of the shed, tearing them into about a dozen pieces and strewing them all about. He told me he needed to leave, presumably to get some material for the repair, and that he'd be back in 15-20 minutes.

Three hours later I went outside and fixed it myself. In the 15 minutes they were there tearing up the broken shingles that morning they managed to discard another drink bottle and an old t-shirt in my yard.

I've used Justin and his crews multiple times. Their watchword would be "CAREFUL", meaning the job is assessed and carefully carried out. No further damage to neighboring plants or fencelines. I've had him cut and remove --from among other trees, fence and carport and antique gardenware-- a 50-foot tree. He also provides stump grinding and careful cleanup. When they leave, you rake a bit and thank your lucky stars. His schedule is flexible, which meets my flexible needs. His crew is friendly and professional. The price point on removal is worth every penny.

I was very disappointed with Just-In-Time Tree Service. I received a bid for tree work for my back yard. Justin's bid was within $100 of two other bidders, so his price seemed reasonable and I thought he seemed like a nice guy, and trustworthy. We told him we wanted him to do the job, but he then was unable to do it for about 2-3 weeks due to weather (out of our control) and then due to his having taken on other smaller jobs. When he finally did show up, he told my wife that it would now cost us $1100 (yes, eleven hundred) more to do the job because he had originally given us his "winter" rates, and it was now "spring". Needless to say, my wife said no, and that we will use someone else. When my wife told me about this I tried to contact Justin to get an explanation of why he would not honor his original bid, but he refused to return my calls. However, there were some tornadoes that caused damage in the Arlington area during that 2-3 week interval, so I guess he feels like he can charge whatever he wants since there are a lot of people with damaged trees and whose insurance companies will pick up the tab. He clearly has no problem jacking up his rates to rip off people when the work is plentiful. Don't use his services, or trust his bids.

I was very impressed at the hard work Justin and his team did on my tree removal. I had a HUGE Oak tree fall on my house then on my car and I was frantic. My insuance adjuster said I needed the tree gone before he come come and estimate the damage. Out of all the contactors I called, Justin was the first to my door to estimate the work, and one of the least expensive. He had a good personality and his team started the very next morning. I was impressed that his teams was able to get the whole tree cut and partically off my property by the end of the first day. Worth the money.

Justin and his employee worked extremely hard on a job that was bigger than it looked. My wife and I were very impressed with the outcome and would recommend his company to my friends and family.
