I am a native of Huntsville, Alabama. I went to Auburn University and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1995. Following that, I went to the University of Alabama at Birmingham for medical school. I trained in General Urology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City before doing a Urologic Oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. I spent three years as Assistant Professor of Urology at Wake Forest University before moving home and joining North Alabama Urology. Here, I specialize in minimally invasive cancer surgery as well as general urology. My cancer care philosophy is geared toward a multidisciplinary approach with a clear understanding that treatment must be tailored to the individual patient. I am certified by the American Board of Urology.

Ultrasound
We are pleased to offer MRI fusion biopsy at North Alabama Urology. We use UroNav fusion technology to perform this service. After a patient has the MRI and a suspicious area is identified, we can “fuse” the MRI to our ultrasound with the UroNav and guide the biopsy directly into the suspicious area. The procedure is done in the office under light sedation and local anesthesia and typically takes fewer than 15 minutes.

Chemotherapy
After diagnosis, doctors are likely to do more tests to learn as much as they can about the cancer and your overall health before deciding on the next steps. There are many options available for care today, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, systemic targeted therapies, local therapies that target the tumor directly, and radiation therapy.
Radiation Therapy

Minimally Invasive Surgery
Surgeons can perform pelvic organ prolapse repair surgery using traditional open surgery, which requires a long incision (cut), or through minimally invasive surgery. In traditional open surgery, the surgeon looks directly at the surgical area through the incision and performs the repair using hand-held tools.

The procedure was quick and almost painless. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a vasectomy. One of the finest all-around medical staffs I have been treated by. Reconstructive Surgery

Laparoscopic Surgery

To perform a laparoscopic nephrectomy, surgeons use special long-handled tools while viewing magnified images from the laparoscope (camera) on a video screen.
