Gates Cleaners has always done a wonderful job with my clothes. I have never had any problems. They have cleaned my wedding dress, my daughter's wedding dress, several formal gowns, men's suis, beaded dresses, etc. and they have always done a perfect job. Very friendly helpful staff. Manager called me personally to discuss the cleaning of a vintage outfit that I had dropped off. Strange how there are 3 bad reviews in a row. I don't believe they are legitimate. I know they will refund your money if they destroy your clothes.
DESTROYED WEDDING DRESS!!!
They destroyed my wedding dress and had the nerve to tell me that they are not responsible and was like we cleaned it at no charge!!!! Told me to go back to where I bought the dress from and even they said that the cleaners is responsible!!! I had to find another cleaners to not only clean the dress but also make alterations for the color bleeding onto the white part of my dress. They knew that they jacked up my wedding dress and tried to hide the fact that they did it. The manager is no help and neither is the owner!!! How have they been in business so long. I AM HEATED AT THE EXTRA MONEY I HAVE TO SPEND BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT THEY DID!!! CHOOSE OTHER CLEANERS!!!
DESTROY SUITS at customers expense
Gates Cleaners ruined my suit skirt with a black BURN mark on the front of my skirt. Staff told me "Sorry" they knew the damage was from their cleaners and I would have to talk to the manager. After weeks avoiding me, the manager told me they will not pay for the damage. On another occasion, the staff lost my $220.00 suit that took 25 min to find. BEWARE!!!!!!

Provided by SuperpagesI've lived around the country, and Gates is the best cleaner that I have used. In the rare event that something isn't up to snuff, like a collar is wrinkled, they will apologize and redo it at no charge. They can handle anything. These folks can clean a silk tie without destroying it. They do it old school with metal inserts to maintain the structure of the tie. They automatically look your clothes over for stains that you may not have told them about. They don't charge for one-day rush jobs. In fact, they always ask you whether their regular work schedule is acceptable to you. They aren't the cheapest cleaner in town, but the quality of their work is outstanding. I have friends in Decatur who ask me to take their clothes to Gates.

Provided by SuperpagesI love these folks! I Take everything from dry cleaning, laundry and large bed covers for the past 12 years and have never had any problems - Never! Everyone is friendly, prices are competitive and things are done on time. The convenience of the drive- thru is great, too. I Highly recommend Gates Cleaners on Whitesburg!

Provided by Superpagesthe person who wrote that review in February was a former employee that quit her job because she got mad at her boss and other employees she is a mess starter and likes to carry tails no one smokes crack in the bathroom she is also a gossip and can not be trusted gates is a great place to work and we have been treated fine she is just mad oh! just a FYI maybe you should lay off the booze and drugs and fix those teeth before you put lies on the Internet thank you

Dropped a dress off Monday for cleaning. Same dress was cleaned by them last year for $25. Got a call the day before it was supposed to be ready telling me the price would actually be $50! They made an assumption about the function it was to be worn to and doubled the price! I don't want anyone else to get taken by this dishonest business! Choose another cleaner for special occasion dresses.
