This facility is beyond outstanding. I first went there about 8 yrs ago. Was immediately pleased with staff & fair costs. But in Feb. of 2009 showed me just how amazing this place is. We had managed after a week to catch a kitten on our yard. Turns out she was a 6 month old, but so severely malnourished she weighed only 2 1/2 lbs, & dying of severe pneumonia. Dr. Bridget Brook (also the owner) initially recommended euthanasia, but when I pleaded that altho we were currently in financial difficulties, we'd put all the "sweat equity" in to save her, she immediately agreed. What followed was months of extreme care, including several middle-of-the night calls, wherein she'd meet us at 2 or 3 a.m. at the office, for e/r shots. There were several ICU stays of a week or more when Ivy nearly died. When at home, we were giving her 7-8 different shots a day, plus inhalant albuterol treatments every 4 hrs, including during the nite. Dr Brook saw her 2-3 x's a wk for months and never gave up on this kitten, even when it seemed hopeless. And knowing our situation at the time, she charged us almost nothing for all this, taking a major monetary loss, for all the right reasons.. She is at the top of my Most Admired short list of people. Her level of dedication, expertise, true love of animals, compassion, sense of humor & pure decency is beyond exemplary. At our last visit with Ivy a few months ago, Dr. Brook noted wryly that Ivy had become "a tad voluptuous"! Ivy's now delightfully spoiled rotten, an adorable hellion to our other 2 cats, & bursting with health & vigor, and no trace of those nightmare months,& we owe it all to Dr Brook. And the staff rocks too!
