Very unprofessional!!! Having to call constantly for medication and supplies for comfort care. My Aunt was left feeling uncomfortable up until the second she passed away. I called the nurse because I notice a change in her breathing and requested for someone to come out. She explained that patient had to be in crisis for her to come out. I explained to her that my Aunt appeared to be in crisis. Then she told me to count her respirations. (I'M NOT A NURSE) How do you do that? She gave me a tutorial respirations was 37 per minute (normal is 12-17). Meanwhile family is around the bed watching her gasp for air. She instruct us to give another .5 morphine but ensured us that it will not send her over the edge as she called it. Family gave addition meds but it didn't give her any relief. I asked for virtual visit so she could see the breathing for her self because she said she was an hour away. It took about an hour for the physician to respond. After begging and pleading maybe 21/2 hours later the nurse arrive she was still gasping for air even though she was on oxygen. She watched her for about 5 minutes then began to check vitals. She was not able to get a blood pressure and was not able to get a pulse. Now understanding hospice we knew that she would pass away, but we expected it to be a peaceful transition instead of her gasping for breaths until she just stopped breathing. No family should have to endure this. This company was referred by the hospital. We didn't choose them nor did they allow us an option. Once you choose hospice take the time an research a couple places to ensure that those final days are as comfortable as possible for your loved one.........
