About Arkansas Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center Arkansas Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center is a state-of-the-art medical facility in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Led by John Brandt, MD, and J. Steven Mathews, MD, the gastroenterology and endoscopy practice offers cutting edge diagnosis and treatment for gastroenterological disorders. The team at Arkansas Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center has over 100 years of combined experience. Dr Brandt and Mathews opened the Arkansas Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center in 2005. Over the past 15 years, they average well over 3,000 cases per year at the Endoscopy Center and have over 50,000 patients they actively follow. It is supplied with state of the art Olympus endoscopy equipment with all of the newest technology available. They treat adults with conditions such as Barrett's esophagus, acid reflux, celiac disease, Crohn's disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), ulcerative colitis, and liver disease. Their goal is to identify the root cause of painful and disruptive symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation. Understanding the underlying issue is critical to providing the best possible treatment. Arkansas Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center uses advanced diagnostic tools, including FibroScan. FibroScan is an innovative ultrasound device for the liver. It provides a rapid and accurate diagnosis for liver disease, fibrosis, and fatty change. Anesthesia for the endoscopy clinic is provided by Chris Theodore and Heath Harris, 2 board certified CRNA's. Propofol is the main anesthetic agent used. Pathology is provided by GI Pathology which is a nationally recognized gastroenterology pathology group out of Memphis, TN that specializes in GI cases with board certified specialty pathologists in that field. Pathology results are usually supplied within a few business days of the procedure. They also offer endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), capsule endoscopy, colonoscopy, colon cancer screenings, and conventional endoscopy procedures. Quality and safety measures are followed by the largest GI quality improvement consortium in the world, GIQuiC. They have markedly raised the bar on efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability in benchmarking. Measures that are followed include documentation of patient history, informed consent, and appropriate indication, cecal intubation rates, adenoma detection rates, withdrawal time, appropriate surveillance interval measures, and many others. New patients are welcome at Arkansas Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center, and the practice accepts most insurance plans. Appointments are available by phone, or you may use the online scheduling tool.

Overall

I was a patient of Dr. Brandts a few years ago and was not totally satisfied. I decided to try a different GI last year and loved him but he moved, so I called this office back for an appointment, but because I went to a different GI last year he refused to see me after already scheduling an Endoscopy. So I'm going to Little Rock. This kind of behavior is childish from a physician that is supposed to be helping people.

Overall

Dr Brandt refused to check my blood and I had pancreantitis for two months and almost died. He didn't even notice my fifty pound weight loss and throwing up for months. He is still billing me. He is a horrible rude doctor and that is why he has no patients. Thank you for my $200 bill for trying to kill me. If its not dropped I already have a lawyer so Better get back with me me Brandt :) pos
