Where shall I begin?? I have been to Shamblott Family Dentistry in Hopkins for a deep cleaning which was fine, no complaints. The next time I went in for a wisdom tooth extraction. Which left shards of needle sharp pieces of bone cutting into my tongue and I ended up getting a dry socket which was hell. I had to go back twice to see Scott Shamblott because the pain was SOO intense. He didn't do anything to help with the dry socket except give me pain medication. I ended up going to another dentist for the dry socket and he packed it and it felt better immediately. The next time I went to Scott was to get some cavities filled. The side of my tooth that was filled felt like sandpaper. I admit I was CRAZY to go back but I gave him one more chance.. I went back to have more fillings last week and I asked the dental hygenist if my tooth should feel like sandpaper, she told me no and to ask to have it buffed. Scott buffed that tooth and it felt smooth however after my new filling were done I told him that it felt very rough and could he please buff it smooth. I got the impression that he was in a rush, probably because an assistant kept poking her head in the room and asking how much longer he would be due to a double booking! He kept asking me impatiently if it was good enough with a sigh...I now have 2 teeth that feel like they are coated with rough cement! By the way, after my wisdom tooth extraction I also had to drive myself to the Emergency Room in the middle of the night due to the pain which cost me around $1,000! So, basically everytime I have gone to Shamblott Dentistry, I have either had to go back so they could fix their mistake or I have had to go to another dentist to correct problems! DON"T GO!! Like the other person said...RUN!!!

My husband went in for a routine cleaning and was told he needed to get one of his wisdom teeth out. I never knew he was so dental phobic as he went nuts when they talked about it. He is petrified of anyone doing anything in his mouth other than a cleaning. I was really impressed. They were caring and compassionate and got his depth of fear. They explained why it was necessary and how waiting would not be a good choice but didn't pressure. They were really great with him.

I hate the dentist. But I've seen three dentists here and they are all awesome. Dr. Shamblott is super honest and got me out of pain. He looked at the treatment plan I had from another dentist and only had me do the work I needed. He said he couldn't see anything on my x-rays or in my mouth for half the plan the other dentist (not in his office) had recommended.

Then he did the work, and Molly helped me figure out how to pay for all of it. She's magic with numbers, insurance, financing and gets it really well.

Dr. de Llano saw me for an emergency appointment and was as expert as Dr. Shamblott. She was patient and understanding with my fear and helped walk me through everything I had done so I would be comfortable.

Dr. St. Dennis was amazing. She made me laugh and totally distracted me so I didn't even realize she was done. That was an amazing accomplishment if you know me!

No one made me feel bad (like most dentists do - I think they teach them that in school). Everyone treated me like royalty. There was always someone in the room for me to talk to and everyone answered my questions (even when I asked the same one again). They were SO patient.

I hate dentists, but I love Shamblott Family Dentistry. If you're looking for a new dentist, you just found a gold mine if you go here.

Got me in the day I called. I was in pain and my regular dentist couldn't get me in for three weeks. Dr. Shamblott showed me a picture of the cracked tooth and immediately took the time to fix it with a temporary top that lasted until my permanent cap came in. He didn't charge for my exam, just to fix the tooth - just like his ads say. The girls in the office were really nice and took the time to make me feel welcome and were fun to talk to.

Wow, where would I start. Besi...

Wow, where would I start. Besides the awful customer service, the incompetence of the dentists is stunning. My experience is with Claudia de Llano. She first filled a cavity under a crown incorrectly resulting in more decay and from no pain to chronic pain, which she said was fine, until I insisted to be seen, at which time Dr. Shamblott focused on protecting liability. I had to have the tooth pulled by De Llano, who also took off the crown next to it, saying "it happens all the time", hit the pedal of the chair while pulling the tooth by mistake forcing the chair up, left infection in the tooth and was completely confused about how to perscribe antibiotics for it. I teach communication for a living, and this woman is shocking in her complete lack of skill in this area. Likely, once again, protecting some liability concern, again, which giving the level of skill, I can understand that she would need to protect herself against suits for malpractice. Really, if you are considering shamblott, don't walk, run, really fast, to another dentist. I am blown away by what they did. I have much experience with dental work and dentists through the years.
