General Info

The Homer Township Fire Protection District provides fire suppression and rescue services to portions of the village of Homer Glen, the city of Lockport, the village of New Lenox and the unincorporated Homer Township. The department provides mitigation of and recovery from a variety of conditions that adversely threaten the safety of the public. The department s primary operations consist of confining and extinguishing various types of fires. As an extension of the department s rescue services, it also provides pre-hospital, emergency medical care. In addition, it controls spills and incidents involving hazardous materials, performs on-site safety inspections of buildings to ensure structures meet safety codes and participates in campaigns for community awareness regarding fire safety.
