If you are concerned that remodeling might take away some of your home's charm, we can incorporate into your remodeling plan ways to preserve your home's character. For example, we were able to preserve the original wood floors while renovating a home originally built in 1834 by carefully removing the existing flooring, reframing the floor joists, and reinstalling the original floor.
Services: We have the knowledge and the experience to assist you with a variety of construction and remodeling projects. From turning an attic into a living space and updating a kitchen to building a sunroom and remodeling an entryway complete with a custom staircase, Peterson Home Improvement can help you make your home all that you want it to be....
Whether you are considering updating a kitchen or bath, finishing a basement, adding a deck or a porch, or replacing old siding or windows, Peterson Home Improvement can help.
Owner Ed Peterson was trained in New York City and completed 4 years of night school and a 4-year apprenticeship to become a New York State-certified carpenter. While working on many high-rises and other high-end projects, Ed joined an elite group of master carpenters who shared with him their vast knowledge of structural and finish work. His lifelong interest in carpentry led him to enter into a renovation partnership based in Westchester County, and in 1990, when Ed relocated to Dutchess County, he established Peterson Home Improvement. In addition to the work he does for private homeowners, Ed also serves as a consultant for building departments, engineers, and architects. He has been certified by the New York State Department of Labor and has testified as an expert witness in courts of law.
