Mid-Atlantic Moving & Storage

After 9 hours of loading and unloading, we discovered that the movers had stolen alcohol, been drinking on the job, and failed to use pads to pack our furniture. Consequently, nearly everything we owned had been scratched, chipped, or broken, including an unreplaceable oak bench more than a hundred years old. All the covers on our patio furniture were now torn and useless.
Then after we realized that so many pieces we valued were damaged, the nightmare got worse as we tried to persuade Mid-Atlantic to make things right. They told us that the insurance covers virtually nothing, and they would be doing us a “favor” to have their restoration department attempt some repairs. We should be grateful they were willing to do that much.
Now, two months later, after thousands of dollars in damaged furniture, and dozens of unreturned phone calls we are left with this: They offered us $100 to keep our mouths shut and not tell anyone what they did. (Remember this when you read their reviews!) $100 Wouldn’t even begin to replace the patio furniture and grille covers they destroyed, let alone fix the furniture.
Then after telling us they had a professional furniture restoration expert, we let them take three pieces for repair. Result: They returned our dining room table with more damage than when they took it to fix it. They completely ruined, and we mean ruined! a sideboard which now matches nothing in the house. They did do a fair job fixing our breakfast table. For the future protection of those who want to avoid a nightmare like ours, you will need to know that Mid-Atlantic Moving and Storage and Southside Moving and Storage and its subsidiaries are part of the same company.
Regardless of insurance, it is implicit in all performance contracts that the work provided be done in a competently and professionally. Our dispute with Mid-Atlantic is not over insurance, it is over them failing to provide a professional service and then failing to make things right.

This company is a complete joke. I advised prior to booking that I had large furniture. I was charged a price for 3 men however I only received 2 people (One of their employees notified me that I was overcharged). I was initially quoted $450 but ultimately paid over $700 for a trip that was less than 5 miles. My $2000+ mattress was damaged (I requested that they come take a look at the damage and possibly fix it instead of replacing the mattress). Upon making a claim with this company for the damages, I was advised that I should have purchased a "different type of insurance" from them for the job. I would expect that a moving company would be properly licensed and insured. This place should be shut down by the state or they should at least take accountability for their mistakes. If you claim to be a professional moving company, a good idea would be to have "professional" employees( as in actual professionals, not random kids who just slap a plain lounge tee on and call it a day).

Mid-Atlantic Movers was great. They were the movers on this day, and were helpful, courteous and professional. They explained in detail all the charges, and were very careful with all items being moved. I would highly recommend this company and will to all my friends.

Very thoughtful. Even when faced with some difficult circumstances, they came thru. had to take out a window in order to get around a tight hallway and all was successful. They were friendly, efficient and careful. Good start to finish.... thank you guys!!!

Awful, horrible, DO NOT USE THEM!!! One of the movers broke the leg of our dining table and attempted to nail it back together himself--by laying the table top down on the exposed bottom of the moving truck and pounding away at the leg :( This info was not relayed to me; I only happened to glimpse what transpired as I was cleaning an upstairs window. The table was placed in our new home w/o a word. Deep gauges all over table top, multiple scratches in addition to the damage and below subpar "repair" attempted to the table leg. Gross negligence on the part of this employee was greeted by over a month of diversion from the office staff, culminating in several less than professional emails from them and concluding with an offer of $100 for our damage. These people are crooks, take your business elsewhere!!

I used Mid-Atlantic Movers for my move within Ashburn based on a recommendation from friends. This was the first time I used a moving company, but I was impressed. The two guys, who showed up were on time, friendly, and took great care of my possessions. They even had to take apart my desk to get it out of my old place but put it back together perfectly at the new place.

The movers were very professional and highly skilled. You could tell that they knew what they were doing and they were careful not to ruin my new paint job. These guys have been in business for some time. I used Mid-Atlantic Movers 4 years ago. This is a company that stood the test of time and does a good business through word of mouth.

This company does not deserve even one star, but it is required. Our experience with Mid Atlantic/Southside moving and Storage was horrible. We have damaged furniture, scratched furniture, banged door framing and a lack of professionalism as their website promise. The guys who moved us did not come with logoed shirts as shown in the website, and it was obvious to us that they were subbed out. The trucks were also not logoed. We have emailed and phoned complaints with photos and have yet to have our case resolved. Also, when researching moving companies, Troy came out to our home with a logoed shirt and was very professional, and guaranteed that our furnishings and art would be handled with care. No so! We would not and will not recommend this company to anyone.

This is the third time my husband and I have used Mid-Atlantic Movers! They are amazing, polite, enthusiastic, friendly, reassuring, hard-working and careful. I would absolutely recommend Mid-Atlantic Movers to anyone who is moving. Our belongings arrived at our new home undamaged and our moving crew was so friendly!

The staff was very professional and easygoing; everything arrived without a scratch even though we had some very heavy pieces (baby grand piano and all glass 7 ft. curio cabinet) and many paintings. We highly recommend Mid-Atlantic Movers and would absolutely use them again.

We just moved with the help of Mid-Atlantic Movers on the recommendation of our daughter who had used them twice. We downsides from a 9,000 sq. ft. home from the beginning to end, packing to unloading, and the experience was wonderful. They were punctual for both the packing and moving.

Our move was a real challenge. We had our car broken into that morning and were dealing with the repair when they arrived right on time. They were careful, quick, and friendly. We made multiple stops and they even made an unscheduled stop while we were waiting for the new house to close.

We booked Mid-Atlantic Movers to move all our basement "stuff" into storage while we did a renovation. Amazing experience. The service included packing every box -- numbering and itemizing to a list – I would recommend this company.

Mid-Atlantic Movers went well and our belongings arrived safe and the movers made sure they did not simply put down boxes anywhere, they were moved to specific rooms which made things much easier to setup after. I would recommend Mid-Atlantic Movers to ensure a piece of mind when moving as It can be a very stressful time.

They took great with our furniture. They were friendly, courteous, and careful. I would strongly recommend that you double check that the receptionist wrote down your address correctly. Luckily, I called in early and it had been taken down incorrectly. This could have been a big glitch. But the actual movers were perfection and otherwise the company would have rated a 5+.

Our last move was 2 years ago, so we took great care in choosing our moving company. We used yellow pages to find a number of the companies which we interviewed. Very professional quotation using a tablet computer to document our requirements! The final bill was almost exactly the same!

Mid-Atlantic Movers were recommended to me by a friend. I was very happy with the service. I used them for packing as well. The guys worked a long 12 hour day to get all my belongings moved to a smaller house without complaint. Even after the longest day they took the time to reassemble the furniture and help with placement in the new place. They made what could have been a very stressful day much less so. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I found Mid-Atlantic Movers just by googling moving companies and looking a few reviews. I actually tried calling some others, but the Mid-Atlantic Movers were the one available on short notice. They were able to accommodate me and my schedule, which was great. And ended up using them twice. Both times they did a good job helping me move pretty fast and they wrapped up my things nicely so nothing was damaged.
