U-Haul Moving & Storage of Helena

Absolutely terrible customer service! This location tried to charge us an additional $71 when we dropped off a truck, hoping we wouldn't question the extra charges.



The employees at this location were rude and evasive. We had to question them at least four times before they told us that we (supposedly) returned the truck late, and they were charging us for an additional rental day, an additional day of insurance, and the subsequent taxes. We did not return the truck late. In fact, we returned it four hours early.



The employees at this location lied and told us completely ridiculous information, i.e. U-Haul would give the extra money to the location where we picked up the truck, so we had to contact them for a refund. And although they charged our credit card, which was in their computer database, they did not give us a receipt for the extra charges, nor did we sign a receipt agreeing to pay the extra charges.



After calling U-Haul's customer service number, we found that they hadn't charged us for returning the truck late, but rather for returning the truck to the wrong location, an additional day of insurance, and the subsequent taxes. This made no sense because we had returned the truck to the correct location, and even if we had not, they had no justifiable reason to charge us for an additional day of insurance. The poor customer service representative who answered our call was confused himself about the extra charges.



This location would have completely ruined our opinion of U-Haul if we hadn't had great experiences at both of the locations we visited in Denver. Our experience with U-Haul's customer service number was good as well. Their customer service representative was friendly and reversed the unwarranted charges quickly.



Save yourself the trouble. Do not use this location. Use another location in Helena. If you use this location and the employees try to add extra charges to your bill, contest the charges. Otherwise, the employees will continue to lie and overcharge customers, so they can make more money.
