Hathorn Surveying

We have known these people for years. So we decided to use them in 2012 because we had a squatter on the family property. We had 5 acres to survey and they had a hard time since some of it was along the creek. They were wonderful and we paid 1200. We plan on using them again.

My wife and i used Mr. Hathorn's service and were very suprised at the end result. I was sitting next to my wife when she wrote notes of her conversation with Mr. Hathorn. She explained to him that the property was situated in Bethany, LA. He then explained that it would take 3 to 4 hours to find the corners and that the price would be $110.00 per hour. So Tammy and i discussed it and we agreed to use his service figuring it would be a bill of $500.00 or less. Well, when the work was complete we received a bill of over $1000.00. He explained that it took more than one day to do the job. We did not know he would charge us drive time from Haughton, LA out to our property in Bethany. Bear in mind that he was told where the property was in the initial conversation yet he estimated 3 to 4 hours to complete the job. We were billed 4 hours just for drive time. We feel the job should have been done in 1 day and not 2. This type of business practice is something everyone should know before they use Mr. Hathorn's service. He will tell you one thing and then do another. Now, i know an estimate is an estimate.....but to more than double an estimate for services rendered is not right. Buyers beware....Mr. Hathorn will "stick it to you".

Tammy and i did pay his bill in full. We work very hard for our money and don't like spending it on service companies that decieve us.
