This restaurant is WAY overpriced for what you get. I have been there a countless amount of times wherein they have messed up my order. Today, I went in to get a couple ala-carte tacos and when I have them my card, they told me they were charging 3.75% for using the damn thing!!!! I will NEVER go to this place again. I suggest you do the same, until they can learn to run a better business and restaurant.

I've been eating here 2-3 times a month since I moved here in February 2013. While the location isn't much to look at, the food tastes pretty good and is definitely worth trying. If you're looking for somewhere to sip margaritas with friends or have a date, I'd probably recommend one of the other "fancier" places in the Lansing area.

I've gotten two cases of food poisoning from this location of Famous Taco. Never again will I go back, shame on me for giving them a second try.

Really gross. Went with a friend and we BOTH found hair in our food. Not just on it like it casually fell on top but in it after we had taken a bite. The place didn't seem very clean. The waitress was nice. A bit overpriced. I can't get over the hair though. I was gagging for a good hour after. Never going back!

The #12 roast beef wet burrito is awesome and the chips and salsa are the best in town. We've eaten there 15 or 20 times since they opened and the food has always been good quality and hot and the time from sitting down to the waitstaff putting the food on our table has never been over 10 minutes. I guess it's a matter of taste but I also like their rice and beans better than anyplace else in the area.

It took us 2 hrs to get our food we paid extra for toppings that we didn't get!! Food was delicious for being cold and soggy!!! Save your money at least for this location famous taco is one of my favorites but this one is bad!

First visit to this location: service was mediocre, decor was bland, and I was sick for 3 days after eating there with food poisoning. Avoid this restaurant at all costs. Would have given zero stars if possible.

I came into Famous Taco at 7pm on a Tuesday evening. The staff left something to be desired. Two high school kids who didn't know what they were doing were up front. The one who took my order didn't know how to use the cash register so just walked away after writing out my order. Several minutes later, another person rung me up and then gave the cooks the order. While waiting, I heard a cook leave the back freezer and started cursing about being cold. I waited almost 15 minutes for 3 tacos, chips and salsa. When I was handed my order, there was no "sorry for the wait" or even a thank you. The girl handed me my to go bag and turned away. When I got home, there was no salsa with my meal. I will probably never go back

First review was pretty harsh, so a report of our experiences at this place is warranted. FAMOUS recipes are still some of the best around when it comes to Mexican food. We have visited the new location already on several occasions and find FAMOUS TACO DELICIOUS. Growing pains? Perhaps. Some rough edges - a few. Bottom line is that FAMOUS TACO is still a really good place to eat. Memories of yesteryear bring us back in, and the current offerings stand on their own.

I went to this location to try it out for dinner. It was over priced and just plain disgusting. The chicken meat on my quesadilla was chopped up and spread on the tortilla shell like cement and the cheese on my nachos was runny. It is a miracle that I did not end up with food poisoning from the little food I ate. Moral of the story....save your money!
