Flooring
The 239,000 square foot, 3-story facility is a steel framed structure with open office space utilizing a raised access flooring system and modular office furniture for flexibility. The interior has an open atrium and stairways in common areas for ease of access between floors. Large skylights, open floor plan and window/curtainwall systems allow natural light to fill the building. The roof is a TPO system with a large roof garden for employee use. The facility is located on a 47 acre site and will accommodate 750 employees and allows for future expansion.

Drywalls
Being a self-performing general contractor allows us to better control the life cycle of your project, preconstruction through closeout. Our skilled craftspeople complete construction activities from demolition to drywall. Our scopes include, but are not limited to, demolition, concrete, interiors (including drywall, doors, frames and hardware, casework), rough and finish carpentry, other specialties scopes. Together with our trade partners, our firm’s self-perform teams bring industry-leading safety, craftsmanship, and quality to every project.
Framing
While our team can self-perform work as a general contractor or subcontractor, we offer a team of skilled general trades craftsmen. Our team of general tradesmen, who are skilled carpenters and labors, provide services from rough framing to finishes. Our tradesmen are knowledgeable of their craft, are cost-conscious, and do their best to minimize cost impacts as much as possible and keep the project on schedule.

During the later stages of managing the phased additions and renovations to the District’s High School, Quandel was retained to serve as Construction Manager for the additions and renovations to their Middleburg Elementary School, located in Middleburg, PA.
New Construction

Demolition
The scope of the demolition included the existing 1 million SF plant, an existing wastewater treatment plant, water tower, pump-house and several other ancillary buildings formerly utilized by Kraft. Concrete and paving were crushed from the demolition and repurposed as fill for the site.

Landscaping
Providing services for the entire campus community, the ground floor of the seven-story building consists of the University Store, two new dining venues and district cooling plant, while the first floor houses campus mail services and an integrative learning area. The remaining six floors consists of suite-style student residences for up to four students. Associated utility infrastructure, site development, and landscaping were also part of the project.
Excavation
We focus on concrete for bridges, dams, and water and wastewater treatment plants. Our firm has the equipment, knowledge, and workforce to manage a variety of concrete projects. Our trained laborers oversee the process from excavation and ground preparation to pouring and finishing. Our concrete capabilities include flatwork and structural concrete.
Retaining Walls
As part of Quandel’s contract, we selected design-assist trade partners for mechanical, electrical and plumbing, structural, and fire protection. As a trade partner, Performance Construction Company complete concrete foundations, including spread footings, grade beams, basement walls, retaining walls, steps, and loading docks. Utilizing an integrated project approach, the team – UPMC Central PA, designers, Quandel, and trade partners – worked diligently to complete construction in 24 months.
Irrigation Systems
This building directly adjacent to the airport, is 100,000 SF and consists of 12 loading docks. Construction took place near a Septa tunnel, so additional care was given for blasting. There is 54 tilt-up panels as well as an ESFR sprinkler system with a 2000 GPM diesel pump. The project also consists of 12 overhead doors with automated loading dock equipment.
