Dr. Raj Bhakta is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Born and raised in Texas and native to the Rio Grande Valley, Dr. Bhakta received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biosciences from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2014. He then furthered his education and traveled abroad to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico in 2019. Dr. Bhakta has received extensive clinical training in different areas of optometry including primary eye care, contact lenses, vision therapy and has special interests in dry eyes, pre- and post-operative refractive and cataract surgical care and the treatment and management of various ocular diseases. Upon graduating, Dr. Bhakta decided to return home to help serve the increasing demand of eye care to the patients of the Rio Grande Valley and strives to provide exceptional care to satisfy the patient’s visual needs.
