David Thompson is a graduate of Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas. While at SMU David participated in a variety of transactional-focused course work and internships. Prior to joining Thomas, Fisher & Edwards, PA in November of 2018, David practiced commercial litigation focusing on professional liability and construction litigation in Dallas, Texas. David’s practice focuses in the areas of taxation, complex estate planning, probate and trust law, and business formation and planning.

Estate Planning
At Thomas, Fisher & Edwards, P.A., our team of experienced attorneys and dedicated staff provide a wide array of probate and estate administration services. The estate administration process (or probate process) is oftentimes a daunting experience for many families. If you (or your family) are currently undertaking the probate process alone, we have the expertise and capability to assist and guide you the entire way. Whether you require routine advising on the probate process or interpretation of complex trust provisions, we can assist you. Family members serving as Personal Representative (or Administrator) or Trustee are oftentimes unaware of the fiduciary duties they may owe to the beneficiaries of an estate or trust. Our team of attorneys can guide you and your family through the proper exercise and discharge of such fiduciary duties.
Wills
As mentioned above our attorneys are well versed in the preparation and execution of basic estate planning documents, such as wills and trusts; however, our attorney’s tax planning expertise sets us apart and can make an additional impact for you and your family. When necessary, we work with our clients, in conjunction with their financial advisor or other professionals, to develop a comprehensive estate plan to utilize both annual and lifetime gift (and estate) tax exclusion amounts. Furthermore, our attorneys have the expertise to assist in multi-generational planning, such as the implementation of dynastic trusts or the review and incorporation of pre-existing trusts from a parent or family member into a beneficiary’s estate plan.

Jordan Goewey is a graduate of The University of Alabama School of Law, where he completed both his J.D. and LL.M in Taxation ( cum laude ). Jordan’s practice areas include estate planning; complex trust planning; probate; estate and trust administration; business formations, advising, and restructuring; and business succession planning, all with an emphasis on taxation. Jordan focuses on finding creative solutions to achieve his clients’ goals and maximize tax efficiency.
