Overall
VERY POOR PATIENT CARE!!!!!! ...

VERY POOR PATIENT CARE!!!!!!

First of all, I didn't appreciate that I was not informed that the x-rays wouldn't be covered by my insurance, which they knew before my appointment and waited until after they took the x-rays to tell me.

But I proceeded to use Dr. Babiuk for my wisdom teeth removal. A week after the surgery, intense pain persisted and I called to let the Dr. know.

I was treated as if I was overreacting and they went on and on about how they don't refill the pain medicine. Which I explained I understood - I just wanted to know what I could do to make the situation better. They said they did not know!!!!!! It seemed like I was suppose to be feeling that amount of pain so I tried to rest and get better.

I waited a day to see if the pain would subside. It did not. I called again, and they finally scheduled me another appt for a checkup. It was found that I had an infection and was given stronger antibiotic.

It has now been 3 and half weeks since the surgery and at one point the infection seemed to be gone. However I woke up today with the entire left side of my face swollen and in pain again... and I left two messages for the Dr. to please call me because I wanted his advice or more antibiotics and he has not returned my call.

I feel very neglected and this doctor's office gives VERY POOR PATIENT CARE.

Overall
Horrible experience

I think Dr Babiuk is probably good at what he does-dentistry-but my experience with him showed him to be totally heartless.

I was scheduled to have 2 teeth pulled, one broke off and the other because decay had gotten under a crown I had had for quite awhile. The tooth was infected and I was put on an antibiotic. My appointment with him had to be cancelled twice because of his own illness. I had no problem understanding that. Once I saw him, he convinced me that I needed an implant to replace a lost tooth in addition to the two teeth that needed to be pulled. So I was rescheduled to do all of it at once. The tooth started hurting again because of the time that went by. This time when I arrived at his office (in great pain), I gave them by credit card to pay for my part of the procedure not covered by insurance. To my dismay, it was declined (it was one of those banks that had just gone under!). Yet I knew that I had sufficient remaining credit and that this should NOT be happening. The receptionist let us use the phone to try to talk with the credit card company, but we got nowhere with them. Finally, my husband and I decided that we had enough in the bank to be able to write a check--something we ordinarily couldn't have done because of the large amount due. When we went to write them the check, the receptionist said, "sorry it's too late. Dr. Babiuk won't take you now because it would put him 15 minutes off schedule."

I was crying in pain! My husband begged them to ask the dentist to reconsider. He wouldn't even talk to us face-to-face. The answer remained NO. This wasn't even my first visit with him. I had a procedure done by him about a year earlier and I paid my part fully and quickly.

I have never experienced such utter indifference to a patient in great pain, either from a dentist or a doctor.

Therefore there's no way I could ever recommend Dr. Babiuk to anyone needing to have a tooth pulled. It can be a scary enough experience to face without having to be treated so heartlessly.
