Pregnancy

Lung Cancer
Dr. Rod cares about your overall well-being, which is why he requires any candidates who smoke to quit smoking 6 weeks before their plastic surgery and remain smoke-free afterward. The surgical reason is that smoking constricts blood vessels, which can cause a number of major issues in the operating room that can easily be prevented if you stop using tobacco products. Additionally, smoking is known to delay the healing process, which leaves you more vulnerable to unwanted side effects and infections. And as a Phoenix physician, Dr. Rod encourages everyone to refrain from smoking to prevent its well-documented side effects including lung cancer, emphysema, and COPD.

Mental Health
Having breasts that sag and desiring perkier ones doesn’t automatically qualify you for plastic surgery. Dr. Rod cares deeply about your overall health and well being, which is why he carefully screens his Phoenix patients to make sure they are in good overall physical and mental health. This includes taking a complete medical history, confirming you are a non-smoker as smoking can unnecessarily complicate surgery and your recovery time, and making sure you have realistic expectations for your procedure.

Ultrasound
Unlike current liposuction techniques that utilize laser or ultrasound energy, the cannula used in Tickle Lipo stays cool, thus eliminating the risk of burning any tissue. Additionally, the hand piece has an automatic shut off when it approaches non-fatty tissue such as skin or muscle, thereby protecting the surrounding tissue from injury. General Surgery
Reza Rod, MD, is one of a select group of surgeons who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. These board certifications require that a physician complete an additional 7 years of specialized surgical training after medical school learning the complexities of all areas of general surgery and the art of facial plastic surgery.
Hand Surgery
After graduating from the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Rod returned to Arizona in July 2008 to open a private practice in Phoenix. At the same time, he began as a clinical instructor in the Division of Plastic and Hand Surgery with the Maricopa Integrated Health System Surgical Residency Program. Dr. Rod earned his board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 2009, which has long been recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Dr. Rod is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
