Southern Diesel Repair

I am a owner operator and I have 5 trucks. Two of my trucks were in Columbia SC when one of them broke down at 3:00 in the morning. I had my driver ask for a good repair shop and they told him of two companies, I won t name the other business but the other one was Southern Diesel Repair. My driver called them and told them the problem he was having, they responded within an hour and had the problem fixed in no time. I was very pleased with the time frame and the pricing from this company. I have since set up an on going account with this company. I would highly recommend this company to all of my trucking friends. Thank You Very Much Southern Diesel!

This place charged me 8k to replace my valve train. After it leaked a month later I took it to a qualified shop that explained none of the parts were actually replaced. David McGee is the head scam artist. This place will rip you off!!!! Get ready to be taken advantage of!!

this company serviced the alternator in my boyfriend's 98 ford in west columbia. they charged us $344 for an alternator. the car was finished in an hour and 15 minutes, but they charged us for 2.7 hours of labor according to their "flat rate" policy. labor was $60 an hour. that came to $162 just for the labor. all in all, we spent over $600 on one car part and a little over an hour of labor. after calling around to other mechanics in the area and statewide, we know we got ripped off big time. we are in the process of reporting this company to the BBB. however, the shop seems to have changed names several times and i wonder if this sort of activity--overcharging customers--might be why. needless to say, i do not recommend this company for any reason. they will take full advantage of you and charge you way more than anywhere else.
