My daughter went to Bethel for the first time when she was in 5th grade. She then attended camp every summer until she was able to work there. Needless to say, she LOVES it! She is in college now and continues to enjoy being a camp counselor each summer. Not only has Bethel been an integral part in growing her relationship with God, but she has learned invaluable life skills and built lifelong friendships. It is a place full of fun experiences and people who love God. As a parent, there were very few places that I trusted with my daughter. Bethel was one of those rare places in which I had 100% confidence . The staff is well trained and meticulous with the campers’ well being. They maintain stringent safety standards which was always important to me. At the heart of camp is a gorgeous lake where some of the recreational activities take place. Hiking, riflery, high ropes, and star gazing are just a few of the other endeavors campers enjoy. Bethel has struck a beautiful balance, celebrating God through fun, adventure, friendships, and unforgettable experiences.

This camp is fabulous, from staff to activities to the way they love and treat my son and daughter . The staff holds the campers to a high standard of conduct, making it a safe social environment, while at the same time creating a constant atmosphere of fun and ease.

Bethel is a wonderful camp where kids bond, learn about Jesus, and have tons of fun. My children have attended every summer for the last 5 years and one is even working toward being a counselor because the experience has meant so much. Several counselors return year after year along with year round staff members. I can't say enough wonderful things about Bethel and know several other families whose children have attended for multiple years.

Coming back changed

My middle school student went to Bethel summer 2012 and came back excited about life, God, and just plain being a better kid. I can't think of a better investment a parent can make. I wish Bethel was closer, for those of you Columbia give your son/daughter a great gift and send them.

If you want your child to experience a week of summer camp where he/she will be around young men and women staff who are deeply in love with Jesus Christ and willing to share that love than Bethel is the best place to send them. All four of my children have been campers over the last 9 years and and always want to go again each year that they can.

Investing for Eternity... over the last nine years, Bethel Christian Camp (BCC) has had a profound impact on the lives of our daughters. To have seen them grow in their Christian maturity, to develop a character after God's own heart, and the ministry opportunities they both have had as a result of the close bonds built at BCC is (indeed) a blessing.

First time parents of campers should take note... if you send your child here for one of their awesome summer camps (or during the seasonal "blow-outs"), they are likely to experience the following...

1) genuine love and mentoring by older youth, young adults and others in ministry for their entire well-being (e.g. spiritual, emotional and physical),

2) scriptural evidence of God's plan for their lives and

3) an awesome time as they learn the Word of God, engage in team-building exercises, offer worship to the Living God and being able to BE kids in a controlled and safe environment.

Your call - how are you going to invest your child's Eternity?

Over the years I have sent all three of my children to Bethel. I have found the staff to be loving and caring. My kids have always had an amazing time, and come home with great stories about all the fun they've had with their fellow cabin mates and the staff. I love the staff at Bethel, and I love the time and attention they've given to my kids over the years!

Camp Bethel is a great camp! We live in NC and years ago our daughter was signed up to go to a camp just 10 minutes from home. Close to the time she was to go, the camp had to cancel her week of camp. We knew of Camp Bethel but had never been. We quickly called to see if they had a spot open for her and they did! Long story short, she went and fell in love with the camp. We now make the 3 hour trek every summer to take her back. The staff there loves what they do and are truly there for the kids. I absolutely recommend Camp Bethel for your child.

Great camp! All three of my boys have both attended as campers and are also now staff (our youngest is still attending camp and can't wait to work there - we sure hope that will be possible). It has meant a great deal to us as a family. They have made great friends that love God and love people - these friendships have extended beyond the summer months to be a part of their life throughout the year.

awesome and fun!

This is an awesome camp that's not to far away. My daughter's attended many years. We love how original, silly, and caring the programs and staff are every year. It's great to know your child is in great hands having a blast.

I'm a former camper. and I'd just like to say IT WAS AWESOME!!!! The staff were always so welcoming and friendly, and the activities were fun. I wasn't as fond of the night hikes and big game, but since I am asthmatic, and don't like too many crowds, it's understandable. Everyone I know really enjoyed their time at Bethel. A lot of the staff members at Bethel now were former campers! And if we didn't shower, it wasn't the camp's fault. We were given the option every day, but we didn't always take the options. Sometimes it was because we were tired, yes, but a lot of the time, it was our choice. Plus, if you didn't bring enough shampoo or soap, most of the counselors had extras. My favorite part was always either the banquet at the end(I AM a girl, I do like dressing up!), the water rodeo, the talent show, and the last-night spiritual time.

Both of my children have attended Bethel, both for the day camp, one also for the weekend blowout and one also for the week long summer camp. Both have many great memories. The staff worked hard to make the kids feel at home (my children know them all by name now) and after a week, they consider the counselors friends. The kids have many great stories about the activities. I appreciate the safety measures taken by all the staff. The bracelet system and buddy system for swimming are wonderful! We look forward to many more happy visits (even the new blob tower!).

Think hard about sending....

The camp appeared fine, upon first impression. The grounds appeared to be well kept and safe for children and the camp counselors appeared to be chipper and excited,if a bit distant. However when I arrived on the final day of camp to pick my child up, I observed the children to be dirty, and rather forlorn-looking. After finding MY child in the same condition,I immediately began asking about his previous week; what he had eaten,if he had observed his regular hygiene routine, what activities he had participated in,his bible studies,if he had had fun. To my dismay, he informed me he had only bathed once during his entire weeklong stay at bethel, despite having swam inthe lake, and sweating continously. To our family cleanliness is next to godliness and that it itself in unacceptable. This kind of filthiness completely baffled my child who is accustomed to bathing daily. In addittion, there were several large mangy, dirty dogs roaming around the campers during the awards ceremony. I would NOT send my child here again,as it is I only hope he forgives me for sending him this time.
