        Jay Rechtweg, M.D. received his medical degree with clinical honors from the New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y. Dr. Rechtweg completed both his surgical internship and residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery from the State University at Buffalo Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He then went on to complete a Rhinological fellowship at the University of Chicago Medical Center, in Chicago, Illinois where he also acted as a clinical instructor. Dr. Rechtweg has practiced as an otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose and Throat Physician) for over 10 years. He is a resident of Long Island and has been practicing in the Long Island area for over 5 years.Dr. Rechtweg is board certified in Otolaryngology. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the New York State Medical Society. Locally, he is a member of the Nassau County Medical Society, and the Long Island Society of Otolaryngology.

        Dr. Rechtweg was patient, empathetic, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend to others.

        Dr. Rechtweg was extremely knowledge and took his time to convey that information in a way I would understand it. He acknowledged all of my questions and took his time in answering them. I generally don’t love going to doctors because I’ve had experiences with them being dismissive; this was certainly not the case and I was happy with the doctor I had.

        I’m in good hands.

        Dr. Rechtweg came highly recommended and I was not disappointed. Unlike other doctors, he treated me as a person and not a problem to be cured. I came in with a specific problem, but after conversation he is helping me on my road to overall health also. I’m tired of the medical field where you have a doctor who treats only a specific part of your health without regard for the entire person.

        We had a fast, easy visit with Dr. Rechtweg.

        Dr. Rechtweg was friendly and sweet with our babies during their exams. He was gentle but made sure to really examine them. He was patient and we never felt rushed. He fully explained everything to us. We will definitely be coming back in the future.
